I’m sure Chilton would have liked to have 19.13th January 2014, 6:32 at 6:32 am #247400GeeMacParticipant
@blockwall2 So it is probably just me who associates 3 with Ukyo Katayama…

@master-firelee – I am *sure* that Max Chilton will choose his number for self-deprecating reasons before any other.
No, I think it is more likely that he will choose #4, which I am told he used in karts; #23, which is his brother’s number in the WTCC; or either #16 or #61, both of which he used in British Formula 3. Every other number he has used in his career – #1 and #26 – are already taken.13th January 2014, 17:50 at 5:50 pm #247402Adam BlockerParticipant
@geemac You most certainly are. Helio Castroneves is the most #3 associated driver in open-wheel racing. Not only does he race #3, he has won 3 Indy 500s13th January 2014, 18:17 at 6:17 pm #247403SandlefishParticipant
While at Autosport International on Saturday, we saw Chilton mention during an interview that he had chosen a number that would ‘look good in his name’.
CHIL70N?13th January 2014, 18:39 at 6:39 pm #247404DionParticipant
That could also be M4X.13th January 2014, 19:33 at 7:33 pm #247405SandlefishParticipant
Turns out you’re right Dion!
So next year I will be racing with number 4 on my car! #M4X

But what about this year Max…13th January 2014, 21:24 at 9:24 pm #247408andae23Participant
Goodness, why Max?13th January 2014, 22:26 at 10:26 pm #247409
What’s wrong with it?14th January 2014, 7:12 at 7:12 am #247410wsrgoParticipant
2009, Max Chilton finishes 4th in British F3 and moves up to GP2 next year.
2012, Max Chilton finished 4th in GP2, and moves up to F1 next year.
Anyone else see a pattern here?14th January 2014, 7:29 at 7:29 am #247411andae23Participant
@prisoner-monkeys Well, he has all right to choose it, but him having the third lowest number on the grid.. it just feels wrong.14th January 2014, 8:23 at 8:23 am #247412
We’ll get used to it. No doubt it will be weird seeing numbers that haven’t been raced in twenty years or more.14th January 2014, 23:14 at 11:14 pm #247413Max JacobsonParticipant
I keep reading this and thinking my name is being called…
It’s a massive problem with dog owners too.
