I may have missed the report or story over the past few weeks, but I don’t understand under what medical reasons Alonso cannot race in Melbourne. I have read the various reasons given for the accident and believe the truth is still to be told, but the medical treatment and call was also made very early and possibly without clarification. I am aware the impact was in excess of 30g but there’s been worse and drivers haven’t had to take 4 wks off!
Fernando and Mclaren could of waited and made the announcement much later, but there seemed to be an urgency to state their driver will not be in Melbourne. Was this Fernando’s call? A refusal to drive the car maybe? This is a driver that is already back training. Does anyone have further info on this?
