Fresh from racing in Monaco last weekend Formula Renault 3.5 is at another classic circuit – Spa-Francorchamps – for this weekend’s two races.
Last year’s race was hit by heavy rain and it’s the same again this year:

31st May 2013, 10:59 at 10:59 am #237297NickParticipantCan’t edit my post, but it seems there will be 30 minutes of WSR on Eurosport this Sunday at 21:45 GMT.

In fact never in history has a Belgian driver won the Belgian GP, not in the old Grand Prix days nor in Formula one. Given Vandoornes clear talent it makes me dream to hear the Brabançonne on the podium of an F1 weekend (even for this Flemish nationalist)
1st June 2013, 12:27 at 12:27 pm #237301TomskParticipantNo idea how the race is going, as the WSR website has had a nasty crash. But Race 1 will be on British Eurosport at 7.45am on Sunday morning…
Why show a live event when you can show the same tennis match as ITV? Is Eurosport run by complete muppets (or maybe the FIA)?!
1st June 2013, 14:12 at 2:12 pm #237302LudwigParticipantRace 1: 1)Magnussen 2)Da Costa 3)Melker 4)Pic 5)Sorensen 6)Martsenko 7)Negrao 8)Move 9)Jaafar 10)Huertas
Vandoorne must have had a terrible day on his home track: qualified 13th, via live timing I saw him drop to 20th in the first lap, to climb back to finish 13th.1st June 2013, 14:33 at 2:33 pm #237303SaintsParticipantMagnussen is so great. Future F1 champ for sure
2nd June 2013, 3:09 at 3:09 am #237306Prisoner MonkeysParticipantMagnussen is so great. Future F1 champ for sure
I wouldn’t be so quick to jump to that conclusion. He’s quick, sure, and he’s running away with it when everyone expected Antonio Felix da Costa to be the man to beat, but it has been well-documented that Formula 1 is at an entirely new level.I think the most that can be said of any driver who experiences Magnussen’s level of success is that he is ready for Formula 1 – but predicting that he will be World Champion is taking things a little too far.
2nd June 2013, 9:06 at 9:06 am #237307LudwigParticipant2nd quali: 1)Magnussen 1.58.428 2)Müller +.165 3)Vandoorne +.231 4)Melker +.276 5)Stevens +.301 6)Da Costa +.316 7)Foresti +.415 8)Sainz +.544 9)Huertas +.674 10)Aleshin +.752
Another double pole for Magnussen, like last year in Spa. I really hope Vandoorne does better today than yesterday!
2nd June 2013, 14:23 at 2:23 pm #237308LudwigParticipantRace 2: 1)Vandoorne 2)Stevens 3)Magnussen 4)Da Costa 5)Müller 6)Melker 7)Martsenko 8)Sirotkin 9)Webb 10)Sorensen
Championship after round 7: 1) Magnussen 115 2)Vandoorne 86 3)Da Costa 71 4)Müller 55 5)Stevens 54 6)Melker 49 7)Pic 48 8)Sirotkin 34 9)Sorensen 31 10)Huertas 26
2nd June 2013, 15:03 at 3:03 pm #237309toiagoParticipantDa Costa’s championship chances are ever fading away. I just hope he can still turn things around.
2nd June 2013, 15:49 at 3:49 pm #237310Tom L.ParticipantNot a bad race, but I thought the TV coverage was rather disappointing. Somehow they managed to completely miss a first-lap pile-up at Eau Rouge that took 4 cars out, only cutting to it once the drivers had vacated their cars. No replays were forthcoming at all. They also cut away from Jaafar and Sainz just before they collided, despite it being pretty clear Jaafar was about to have a lunge down the inside, and again there were no replays.
I can understand them wanting to follow the leaders in case something happens, but when major events in the race manage to slip under the radar, there’s a bit of a problem!Good to see Stockinger have a good run, even if he wasn’t able to convert it into a top 10 result as he should have done. Did anyone pick up what the problem was with his pit stop? (The commentary I had was in Russian…)
