I’m heading over from Perth, Western Australia. First ever GP after watching F1 my whole life. Wanted to do Japan but couldn’t due to work. I’m staying in Abu Dhabi itself rather than near the circuit. Anyone know the best way to get from the city to the circuit each day?

    Hi John

Taxis are very cheap in Abu Dhabi and may be the best way of travelling. I say may be as there were free buses from a couple of locations in Abu Dhabi until last year when they stopped them. It may be that they operate again this year but at the moment there isn’t any information that I can see so not sure.

Going in 2014 just looking . would love to find someone the join in accomdation (im single traveller)

at yas island hotel 4 nights (over looking being on track)for 4000 euros divide 2 so 2000 euros each . i could justify that .(priced checked today 10/09/13) still avaliable

@KLCC88 Glad to see the political situation didn’t put you off! :p As a resident of the UAE I can tell you there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

@drone As Caroline mentioned, taxis are the best way forward. There are loads about and they are relatively cheap. Should be about AED70-80 (about USD20) each way from Abu Dhabi island to Yas.

@GeeMac Cheers mate! Taxis look like the go!

@KLCC88 I’m also doing the pit lane walk on Thursday, Al Jood grandstand for the race.
What’s the Amber lounge? I’m in town from the 29th to the 5th.

@KLCC88 Is Rochester, NY close enough? :-)

Going with my brother this year, but he isn’t interested in attending any of the concerts.

Anyone know if the ticket/wristband situation can permit me to take one of my AD mates (to the concerts) instead ?

Does anyone know where I can find the on-track timetable? Just trying to plan my visit to get into Ferrari World & Yas Waterworld while I’m there but struggling to find any sort of timetable for the practice and race sessions (incl. support sessions).

formula1.com has the F1 session start times. I, too, have been looking for a complete weekend schedule with the support races, but have not found it.

Hi all. Only 3 weeks to go….. Has anyone received tickets yet in the UK? We ordered directly off the Yas Marina circuit website (option B…. I think). Also does anyone know which courier will deliver and if they’ll simply try to deliver and leave a card if there is nobody in.

Hi guys just under 3weeks to go now cant wait. Staying in AD from Monday 28 till the following Monday, travelling alone so would be great to meet up with people in the area or visiting from Dubai for a beer. I would very much like to head into ferrari worid and the wild wadi waterpark as part of a group so feel free to message me if the last to attractions are part of you race weekend. Also what would be a reasonable amount of spending money for one weeks trip? Hope to here from you soon guys and girls cheers Clinton

@T13GIB No race ticket, no wristband for the concerts I’m afraid. Once you get through security at the circuit when you walk in someone will pounce on you and offer you a wristband for the concerts (a different one each day, in a different colour), which they put on you there and then. Like most concert wristbands, it doesn’t come off without a fight so if your mate isn’t with you he won’t be able to get your brother’s wristband.

This is what I’ve found out from the website of the 3 race series, not sure how accurate they are though at there seems to be a clash between F1 qualifying & GP3 Race 1.

    Also, there’s a big gap on Sunday between GP2 race 2 (10.25) and F1 race (17.00)

    Qualifying 17:00

    GP2 Series

    QUALIFYING – 02 NOV, 09:45

The schedule @pt747 put together, isn’t the one I found when looking at the various sites. Here is what I have based on local Abu Dhabi time with session end times my guesstimates.

    Sunday, November 3, 2013
