In seriousness though, that move by Sainz is the sort of thing the GP3 stewards should come down hard on. He’ll probably just get a reprimand, though. Hope I’m wrong….
Following that crash, Kujala’s suspended from race 2 for an “extremely serious breach of the Regulations which had the potential to cause injury to others”, and gets a lie-in tomorrow morning.
It’s a 10-place grid penalty for Sainz – if you ask me, he can count himself lucky.
The penalty is probably a little harsh, since it was just a simple misjudgment on Kujala’s part, but it did happen at one of the fastest parts of a very fast circuit, and he’s looked out of his depth since the start if the season. I’m not sure what Koiranen were thinking, plucking him from (relative) obscurity like that.
