IndyCar goes to the “tricky triangle” this weekend!. One of my favourite ovals of them all. Really looking forward to this.
2nd July 2014, 18:47 at 6:47 pm #265164David-AParticipantRyan Hunter-Reay will be looking to win the second part of the Triple Crown they have going on nowadays.
2nd July 2014, 22:47 at 10:47 pm #265172JackySteegParticipantPotentially a pivotal race. It certainly was for Scott Dixon last year, and there’s even more potential for this to be a crucial race with double points on offer. I’m looking forward to this one, it’s one of the best oval circuits, IMO.
3rd July 2014, 8:04 at 8:04 am #265183Keith CollantineKeymasterI do enjoy IndyCar’s mix of ovals and this is a particularly curious one. Looking forward to this weekend’s race, hope it stays dry.
4th July 2014, 20:45 at 8:45 pm #265477SPParticipantIt was also a turning point for Ganassi (they had a podium sweep last year). Speaking of which, I’d like to see them back in the mix for a race win.
5th July 2014, 22:23 at 10:23 pm #265681SPParticipantWill Power and several other drivers broke the lap record in practice (http://www.imscdn.com/indycar_media/documents/2014-07-05/POC%20indycar-results-pcomb.pdf). The current best is 223.348mph, it may be beaten again in qualifying.
5th July 2014, 23:52 at 11:52 pm #265691David-AParticipantMontoya on pole.
6th July 2014, 21:31 at 9:31 pm #265906SPParticipant..and he wins. Quite a dramatic final stint, especially that 5\6-wide restart.
6th July 2014, 23:48 at 11:48 pm #265942NickParticipantJuan had been looking good all year, but I hadn’t imagined he’d win one just yet. I really do need to find me a way to watch Indycar..
7th July 2014, 0:19 at 12:19 am #265945David-AParticipant@npf1 The best online way IMO is Justin TV, on a channel by someone called “besweet”.
7th July 2014, 0:33 at 12:33 am #2659477th July 2014, 6:22 at 6:22 am #265955sushant008ParticipantJPM wins, finally \m/
7th July 2014, 8:31 at 8:31 am #265962Keith CollantineKeymasterGood to see Montoya take a win, though it wasn’t the most thrilling race of the year.
Losing the endplate off his front wing didn’t seem to affect his car at all. It does rather lend credence to the view that these cars have got too much downforce for their power.
7th July 2014, 9:43 at 9:43 am #265970Oli PeacockParticipantI don’t think that end plate would do much to be honest. It may make there air flow ‘cleaner’ around the tyre but I wouldn’t expect a substantial downforce lost because of it.
7th July 2014, 11:04 at 11:04 am #265984sushant008ParticipantFinal two laps-
Also, good to see Bob Varsha in the commentary team.
