Cars are on track now for the open test: http://racecontrol.indycar.com/
The GP itself is May 10th, all of Indycar’s feeder series will also be racing that weekend.

It looks a lot better than the two versions used for F1 and Moto GP – the horrible double hairpin has gone and the whole course is a bit quicker. Not much grip but they’ve just done some resurfacing so it’s bound to improve.
30th April 2014, 23:27 at 11:27 pm #258564NickParticipantNot a big fan of the end of the track, the double corner before rejoining the main straight, but it’s a lot better than the double hairpin of yesteryear.

1st May 2014, 9:53 at 9:53 am #258584GeeMacParticipantYeah, that is a good improvement, really like the high speed chicane.
1st May 2014, 21:27 at 9:27 pm #258623thetobsParticipantSounds very similar to an F1 car.
2nd May 2014, 5:45 at 5:45 am #258648Joey-PoeyParticipantI do like it, though I wish they had kept the final corner (turn 1 on the oval). This is actually the second time they’ve changed it. Here’s what it was like after the removed those double hairpins some years ago: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B19PRnhKZUbWVl9PM29DU0hXenc/edit?usp=docslist_api
2nd May 2014, 18:15 at 6:15 pm #258690Iestyn DaviesParticipantIndeed – is the last section to improve overtaking on the long straight? The rest looks good.

8th May 2014, 16:45 at 4:45 pm #259173SPParticipantLivestream is still up for USF2000, Pro Mazda and Indy Lights practice sessions.
8th May 2014, 21:28 at 9:28 pm #259230SPParticipantSome impressive trap speeds on the front straight, despite the use of turns 12-14 ala the MotoGP layout. 175mph for Lights and almost 200mph for the Indycars.
9th May 2014, 6:29 at 6:29 am #259244sushant008ParticipantHighlights from the first day of practice:
It’s a very competitive field. P1 to P25 in just 1.1sec! Looking forward to the race.

9th May 2014, 21:07 at 9:07 pm #259436Keith CollantineKeymasterWell, I wouldn’t have put a penny on Saavedra for poe position. And Hawksworth alongside makes for a very unusual front row!
