Montoya ‘owes $2.7m in tax’

    IndyCar returnee Juan Pablo Montoya is being pursued by the IRS for $2.7m in unpaid taxes according to Forbes:

    Montoya may at least be able to get advice from his future Penske IndyCar team mate Helio Castroneves who in 2009 was acquitted after the IRS said he owed $2.3m.

    Eh, the IRS has chased quite a few foreign athletes. Never amounts to anything in the end, and this is a civil suit so the most they can do is make him pay up. F1 drivers avoid tax by hanging out in Switzerland, so who cares?
