Motors TV UK
ParticipantWe thought you might like to know that Motors TV will broadcast every round of the 2012 Nationwide Series live this year. The Busch brothers, Danica Patrick, Sam Hornish Jr. and Travis Pastrana are just some of the big names who’ll do battle on this monster schedule and we’re thrilled to be bringing our UK fans every minute of it. Further details of our coverage plans will be out soon.

ParticipantThat is excellent news, thank you motors.
Any chance that you’ll be covering the Nascar Sprint Cup aswell, really miss that after Sky droped it?

ParticipantWill every Nationwide race be live, or will some be shown as delayed? If so, which races are you planning to show delayed coverage?

Participant@igloo22 Sprint Cup is currently shown elsewhere, though of course we always keep our options open as regards future programming.
@amg-fan I only have schedules through March as the amount of live events on Motors TV this year has increased significantly. Most races this year will be live but a few will be delayed-as-live. On Saturday we have Daytona live and next month we’ll have Phoenix, Vegas and Fontana live with Bristol delayed. I’d say this sort of ratio (four live to one delayed) is pretty representative of how the season will go.
@shaneb12345678910 Unfortunately we’re not on Freesat, and we’re not available in Ireland.
@mrgrieves The difference is primarily that Nationwide is designated as the second tier, so Cup is more prestigious, has more races and also involves the end-of-season ‘Chase’. However Cup drivers regularly compete in both series – for example at last year’s Daytona race the podium was locked out by Cup drivers. They are, however, ineligible for the title, which explains how Ricky Stenhouse Jr. took home the championship despite winning relatively few races.
In that sense Nationwide is a development series, a la GP2. But think GP2 with Vettel, Alonso and Button jumping in a car (on the same weekend as a grand prix) and giving it some every few races.

ParticipantAh, Bristol is delayed coverage – thanks for letting me know. I appreciate that Nationwide is being televised; it would be great if all races were shown live – but I understand that’s not difficult. To get more viewers, I would suggest showing all three road course races live. That includes Road America, Watkins Glen and Montreal. I think European viewers will find those races entertaining, as it’s what they are familiar to.

Participant@motorstv So much better watching the NNS on Motors than it was back in Aus. Not cutting away when ESPN goes to adverts makes such a difference. We actually caught the Big One live instead of missing it like the US did. It’s so much better when you can actually watch the race, so thanks.

Participant@motorsTV Love the channel, motorsport fans dream! You really helped me out when things got messy with the WRC coverage.
I tuned into NASCAR Nationwide for the first time at the weekend and I enjoyed it, looking forward to watching more of it.
