Participant@Kingshark Not accusing you of plagiarism, but it looks a lot like the one I posted earlier :P. And 5-6-7 reminds me of Indianapolis and Arnage, but in reverse and not as tight.

ParticipantHere are a few more that I’ve made. Once again, the shape is more important than the length of the location:

ParticipantI guess I found something to do for the rest of the winter vacation. :P
My longest, most challenging creation yet: http://s1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb337/multibikram/?action=view¤t=circuittrack4-1.png

Participant@kingshark – I’m afraid I’m not really a fan. I think a lot of your circuits are far too angular; there’s no really fast corners or anything of that ilk. Looking at your latest design, what was stopping turns five and six from being one long sweeper? Or turns seven and eight?
I just think your designs have an inorganic quality to them that they sorely need.

Participant@prisoner-monkeys I really like the Melbourne and first Lisbon track. The others seem to lack some flow.
2nd January 2012, 11:48 at 11:48 am #188309Prisoner Monkeys
ParticipantIt’s not about flow. Flow is over-rated. It might be nice to have a circuit that is just Copse-Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel end-on-end, but it would be impossible to pass. The trick is to enter a new city and find the roads that look the most interesting, and then try to connect them. I actually thing the first one in Lisbon would be better if it were 4.5km long, not the full 6.0km, because the straights would be a little bit shorter.

ParticipantI think I’ve found a good one: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5236657
Basically Copse-Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel end-on-end, but with two hairpins. If run counterclockwise, I imagine lots of passing opportunities in the Western hairpin close to the seaside and an occasional attempt at the Southeastern hairpin (maybe with DRS). And because of the many right hand turns, the drivers’ necks will be spared.

It’s quite hard to create a flowing corner through paint, although I personally love apex-corners. But meh, let me give a more flowing attempt:http://s1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb337/multibikram/?action=view¤t=circuittrack5.png
The shape is more important than the lenght, which is close to 7 km.

ParticipantSo many circuits, so many great imaginations. I think I’ve found my heaven :D
Prisoner Monkeys – I particularly like your Stuttgart circuit and the one near the Vatican City
Here are 7 of my favourites near where I live. Some roads are mostly narrow but imagine them just a little bit wider ;)
Leeds – Street – Clockwise – 4.17km
http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/6776/04leedsgpsatellite.jpgBingley – Street – Figure of 8 – 6.24km
http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/7830/23bingleygpsatellite.jpgIlkley – Permanent – Clockwise – 5.04km
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/5848/19ilkleygpsatellite.jpgAllerton – Street – Clockwise – 5.52km
http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/9281/39allertongpsatellite.jpgSt Ives (Near Bingley) – Parkland – Clockwise – 5.23km

http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/8907/40mammothgpsatellite.jpgThe Bingley and Mammoth some may have seen already.
I create circuits using Google Earth and the ruler tool, I find it very useful to calculate the length and check out the ‘rough’ elevations. Streets circuits are easy to make and it’s surprising how many different ideas you can come up with.

I am convinced Stuttgart was built by racing drivers. There are so many fantastic roads there.

ParticipantAlso, forgot to include this one in the above post and for some reason, I can’t edit it in:

Participant@brickles They’re nice, but that St. Ives course is outstanding.
