Thanks for your response. Like I said in my post. “Every car that finishes the race should be awarded a bonus point for reliability.” That is from the first car to the last car to pass the checkered flag. No bonus point is given to any car that does not finish the race.

I have been following F1 since 1975 and I often think that every car that finishes a race, should be awarded a ‘bonus point’ for reliability. In effect, a tailender team who has a reliable car that lacks speed, could beat a team that has speed, but lacks reliability from mechanical failures and crashes etc. What do you think?
