Alonso commented on the post, Verstappen becomes 14th driver in F1 history to score more than one 'grand slam' 9 months, 1 week ago
In spite of his appalling weekend Hamilton beat yet another Schumacher record: most race entries with a single constructor. 181 for Schumacher (Ferrari), 182 for Hamilton (Mercedes).

Max did the most points ever in a weekend
Actually, that wouldn’t be correct. Hamilton scored 50 points in the 2014 finale. Which was quite stupid, but then again we could say the same about points awarded for […]
Alonso commented on the post, 2022 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix interactive data: lap charts, times and tyres 9 months, 2 weeks ago
@keithcollantine: looks like there is a mistake in the graphics. They only display up to lap 58 and this race was 63 laps long.
Alonso commented on the post, Hamilton urges more action on human rights after letter from death row inmate 10 months, 2 weeks ago
I wonder when Lewis Hamilton will start to talk about the even more serious human rights abuses committed by, say, the UK or the US. Oh, wait…
Alonso commented on the post, Will new rules serve up a close race? Some suspect tyres may limit potential for passing 10 months, 3 weeks ago
@apophisjj: It would be a very bad idea to remove DRS for the first race of the season. Yes, the goal of these new regulations is to improve close racing to a point where DRS is no longer necessary, but for now […]
Alonso commented on the post, Hamilton attacks Hungary's 'cowardly, anti-LGBTQ+' new law 1 year, 6 months ago
Not sure. I mean, it’s great that he complains about this, but he has participated in the Abu Dhabi GP for many years, and AFAIK (please correct me if I’m wrong) he has never criticized the UAE government for […]
Alonso commented on the post, "It was a wind-up": Mercedes won't wait until winter to name Hamilton's team mate 1 year, 7 months ago
As a fan I say Bring Russell in, give us the show!
But if I was Wolff my approach would be very different: if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.
Alonso commented on the post, Mercedes unlikely to choose between Russell and Bottas before end of season – Wolff 1 year, 7 months ago
It looks to me like this confusion is caused by a mistake in the article. First the article says Wolff talked about DECIDING, but then it says he talked about ANNOUNCING. Those are very different things, and there […]
Alonso commented on the post, Analysis: F1 field closes up as Mercedes lose two seconds in four months 1 year, 10 months ago
I wouldn’t read too much into this. Mercedes’ engineers might easily be the smartest this sport has ever been. They’ve been hurt the most by the change, but that also means they know exactly where they have to […]
Alonso commented on the post, Mazepin will not say whether he apologised to woman in grope video 1 year, 11 months ago
Yeah, this whole story is so ridiculous. Looks like it’s one of so many cases of fake feminism.
Alonso commented on the post, 2020 F1 driver rankings #18: Alexander Albon 2 years ago
@joeypropane: There’s nothing ridiculous about it. This is a ranking based on performance, pure and simple. Should we rate Russell above Hamilton because he performed better relative to their respective […]
Alonso commented on the post, As Saudi Arabia joins 2021 calendar, Hamilton urges F1 not to ignore human rights 2 years, 2 months ago
I’m afraid you’re mistaken, Ian. Overall I like Lewis and I’m happy for his success (apart from being a bit bored of the current dominance). And I’m glad he uses some of his money to support worthy causes. But the […]
Alonso commented on the post, As Saudi Arabia joins 2021 calendar, Hamilton urges F1 not to ignore human rights 2 years, 2 months ago
Will someone tell Lewis about how the UK and most other Western countries abuse human rights on a daily basis, probably even more than Saudi Arabia? I won’t hold my breath…

Alonso commented on the post, Official: Saudi Arabia to hold first F1 race in 2021 2 years, 2 months ago
Correction: Saudi Arabia’s human rights violations are not any better or worse than those of your country, my country, or pretty much any other country in the world. What is particularly appalling is the m […]
Alonso commented on the post, Can F1's controversial Saudi Arabian race really be a 'positive force'? 2 years, 2 months ago
Actually, nobody knows what those people did, because they are falsely imprisoned without charges and their habeas corpus right is forfeited, which means that the only thing we know for sure about them is that the […]
Alonso commented on the post, Can F1's controversial Saudi Arabian race really be a 'positive force'? 2 years, 2 months ago
Yep, mainly because the US government likes to commit most of their human rights abuses (not all, mind you) in other countries, so if you live in one of those countries you’ll definitely be better off moving to […]
Alonso commented on the post, Can F1's controversial Saudi Arabian race really be a 'positive force'? 2 years, 3 months ago
This is so hypocritical. We’ve always had F1 races in the country with the worst human right abuses record in the world, the US, the country where human rights abuses are so common that they don’t even bother […]
