You’re probably right. Voted Vers, but come to think about it, Sainz had more merit this time.

Hmm, I like Bottas, but I believe Webber’s motto: “you make your own luck”. Somehow Bottas lost three places in the first lap and the reason he got damage was that he was fighting for fourth when he should have […]

I gave it a 6, but you have convinced me, it was actually better that that. Guess I’m a bit spoilt by the excitement of the last few races.

@keithcollantine: Please ban this guy immediately. He has provided an unbiased and reasoned point of view. Unacceptable!

@hahostolze: Not everybody wants to hear other people’s opinion. Some people just want to give theirs.

Interestingly enough, Bottas crash means Williams is the only team that hasn’t had a DNF in 2019, the only team that has had both of its drivers finish every single race so far this year. This suggests that, since […]

@coldfly: In a race like this, with so many things happening at the same time, it’s not so easy to focus on the actions onscreen, there are just too many things happening at the same time. Take tyre calls: In a […]

I didn’t vote for this reason. Too many pit stops, too many last minute calls, too much chaos. Watching the race just once it’s impossible to tell how much of the result was down to driver skill, how much came […]
Alonso commented on the post, Ferrari explains pit call which dropped Leclerc behind Verstappen 2 years, 10 months ago
Ferrari did nothing wrong this time. Vettel was ahead of Leclerc and no strategy call was going to change that. And no strategy call would have achieved anything better for either driver. It’s easy to complain, […]

Alonso commented on the post, Bottas denies Hamilton home pole position by six thousandths of a second 2 years, 10 months ago
I wonder what else Lec could do to “be Ham in 2007”. He’s outperforming a multiple WDC in his first year with the team. Ham’s performance in 2007 attracted more attention because he was winning races, but that’s […]

Seriously, Hamiltophobia is so boring. I don’t support him and I’m looking forward to the time somebody comes and beats him. But I just acknowledge that right now he’s the best, and in the meantime I just try to […]
Alonso commented on the post, Verstappen keeps Austrian GP win as stewards clear him over Leclerc collision 2 years, 11 months ago
@frood19: The reason I’m asking, as you can guess, is that so far I haven’t seen a move like Verstappen’s go unpenalized (in a dry race, outside the first lap, etc.) Can you give two or three examples of those […]
Alonso commented on the post, Verstappen keeps Austrian GP win as stewards clear him over Leclerc collision 2 years, 11 months ago
That was in the first lap. First lap incidents are never penalized unless they are very dangerous. We all know that, we’re all happy with that, so not a valid example.
Alonso commented on the post, Verstappen keeps Austrian GP win as stewards clear him over Leclerc collision 2 years, 11 months ago
@esploratore: Brazil 2016 was under heavy rain, that’s an entirely different scenario (plus Vers gave Vettel a lot of space). In Austria 2016 Rosberg got a 10 second penalty, and I’m asking about cases in which […]

Can someone find a video in which a move like Verstappen’s was NOT penalized?

Ferrari have struggled with poor mechanical grip for many years. […] Only in the past two years has the car’s front end come alive in slow turns, hence Raikkonen’s relatively stronger performance in those yea […]

Alonso commented on the post, F1 engine complexity now "way too high" 3 years ago
@neviathan: As exciting as that might sound, it wouldn’t work in F1. In F1 that would lead to a technology race that would yield huge differences in power, with top engines delivering 200-300 hp more than the […]
