I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere, but did anyone else notice the graphic on the start/finish line at the start of the race? Similar to the crap we saw in (I think) Austra last year. This time a note from […]

I’m number 2. Coverage in Canada is sparse with no option to purchase an international alternative (e.g. Sky or BBC). So it’s Bit Torrent for me.

@Donna Canadian here. I agree with you but I think Keith is listing what it takes to get TSN at all, which is to have at least a basic cable package bundle of some sort.

@KeithCollantine Also worth mentioning: in Canada we get NBC’s (pitiful) coverage from the United States. That is the “main” NBC channel, not the special NBC Sports Network which is blocked. (so it’s something like 2-3 races a year I think)
NBC is also part of any basic HD cable package as mentioned before, so around $30 CDN per month.

@keithcollantine I’m not sure how it works across the globe, but in Canada you have to pay for at least a basic package in order to get any TV channels at all. (Maybe someone visiting this site from Canada can correct me!) It might be possible that you can get a couple of channels (CBC) without any kind of subscription but I’m not sure, and in…[Read more]

@keithcollantine re: @ares (Canada) Can you confirm, do you pay absolutely nothing for the package that includes TSN and TSN2, or do you have to pay for the package?
TSN and TSN2 (and recently TSN3, TSN4, TSN5) are not specifically free but they are part of every basic TV package (bundled channels) that come with every TV subscription with every…[Read more]

I should add to the above that TSN provides the BBC’s race coverage and it is commercial-filled. (split screen so you can still see the race in a small box but the commercial is larger and with audio of course)
There is also zero pre- or post-race coverage and no “weekly” show at all. I have to go online to Torrent Sky’s F1 Show to get a weekly…[Read more]
