A paddock announcement I did at a trackday recently:
“Please make sure you’ve fitted towing eyes to your vehicles. We have an incredibly efficient recovery team here – just ask George Russell – but it helps to […]

At the very least, this is absolutely amazing content
JCost commented on the post, Hamilton might have won if we hadn't "screwed up" with DRS – Wolff 6 months, 1 week ago
Ferrari is a joke at this point. Major props to Mercedes for what they did after that subpar start of the season. After the first quarter of the championship I did not expect either championship to look like this […]
JCost commented on the post, Double stacking fears behind call not to pit Leclerc, says Binotto 7 months ago
Indeed. The worst case scenario was losing P2 for HAM and make sure they’d have both cars on the podium.

For sure.

Gestured like that (from F1 and Fia) are good placeholders until action can start to happen. It’s been long enough now though; individual drivers and teams are putting stuff in place already, so it’s time to see […]

Indeed, if I was Masi I’d resign.

PhilEReid started the topic Is there a practical reason F1 cars come to the grid before the formation lap? in the forum Formula One 12 months ago
A friend of mine has asked the question in the title. The idea of the formation and the recon laps before arriving on the grid both make sense, but it’s true that in theory cars could start the formation lap from the pits without much issue (aside from leaving their pit boxes in the correct order).
I guess the question is, outside of the rules…[Read more]
PhilEReid commented on the post, Poll – Which F1 team has the best driver line-up for 2022? 12 months ago
I think an argument could be made for either of Merc, McLaren or Ferrari, although I’d only ever vote for Merc or McLaren on what, in theory, they could do. Personally I rate Norris at Leclerc’s level, but […]
JCost commented on the post, Masi "more than capable" of emulating Whiting's success as F1 race director 1 year ago
I don’t think Masi is coming back, keeping him will be bad for F1.
Masi will likely treat Mercedes favorably to make up for his horrendous call in Abu Dhabi and that’s not good for the sport.
FIA should […]

Red Bull desperately needs FIA to keep Masi. If Masi is replaced the asterisk will get even bigger.
PhilEReid commented on the post, 2021 F1 driver rankings #6: Fernando Alonso 1 year ago
Yeah, this is what I thought would be the case. I think perhaps because of his struggling start, I put him down as 8th. I still don’t think I’d rate him higher than Gasly, or in the top 6, but it’s certainly […]
PhilEReid commented on the post, 2021 F1 driver rankings #8: George Russell 1 year ago
I have Vettel and Ricciardo the same, And then Perez and Bottas the other way around. Ocon is the same, but then I have Alonso in 8th and Russell in 7th. It was a close call on both pairs that I have either way […]
PhilEReid commented on the post, 2021 F1 driver rankings #12: Sebastian Vettel 1 year ago
Both Vettel and Ricciardo are exactly where I ranked them too. 14th to 17th I have the same drivers, just in a different order. Personally I ranked Schumacher above both Alfa’s (in 14th), and I put Giovinazzi […]
JCost commented on the post, FIA begins investigation into Abu Dhabi restart controversy 1 year ago
Masi did enough to be fired and Hamilton being mad at his decisions is perfectly normal. I don’t see anything controversial in letting Messi go after Abu Dhabi debacle and other weired decisions over the season.
JCost commented on the post, FIA begins investigation into Abu Dhabi restart controversy 1 year ago
Masi is gone I believe.
JCost commented on the post, FIA begins investigation into Abu Dhabi restart controversy 1 year ago
I think FIA at this point is convinced Masi messed up and they are well aware of the implications for the sport (particularly in the short term) of Lewis suddenly leaving the sport due to sport integrity issues so […]
