@bebilou Sorry, but how is managing an over-engineered naturally aspirated engine with a butter-smooth torque curve anything approaching ‘the pinnacle of driving’?
Everything you *want* was being delivered by […]

If it was that simple, they’d have done it years ago. Circuits aren’t just used for F1, and your solution would result in more motorcycle riders getting injured, and more track day customers trashing […]

@bebilou True problem is that that 90 spectators will be Bernie’s target audience, Rolex owners, Sheikhs and Dictators
GT Racer commented on the post, Should F1 try the proposed new aggregate qualifying format? 5 years, 6 months ago
@bebilou That was actually suggested back in 2002 when they were looking at changing the 1hr format but it was pointed out that everyone would just wait until the final 5 minutes of each 15 minute segment before […]

@bebilou Without run-off, Grosjean’s crash would just have been mad pinball action and with a crashed car on the racing line, it’s just calling for more mayhem.
@bebilou The lack of run-off is only part of the problem – creating a safe pit lane entrance is another, and the high speed at which cars pass through that area and the limited space due to the stadium on the […]
@bebilou One problem is that its not a traditional concrete wall & as I understand it safer barriers cannot be installed there because of that.
You see in this image that its a bit more like a temporary circuit […]
@bebilou You’re right! I went to COTA last year and whenever a car went past you couldn’t hear the commentary at all but watching these videos that’s clearly not the case now.
Also last year I could hear the 22 […]
@bebilou It’s not just the volume though, in a normal TV broadcast we have the sound of the track changing depending on what camera angle the director has selected, they never follow a car all the way down the […]

Yes. I’ve been here many times, but sadly, as @bebilou said, it’s not up to date. If you get a chance take a look at the original Suzuka plans! Sectors 2 and 3 are more or less unchanged, but sector 1 is epic!
Red Andy commented on the post, Drivers respond slowly to FIA track limits crackdown 7 years, 12 months ago
@bebilou As I pointed out in a comment on today’s round-up, turn one at Montreal is particularly scary in this regard. With the tarmac down there, there’s nothing stopping a car with brake failure down the pit […]
