Why were McLaren moved from the back to the middle of the pitlane halfway through 2008?

25th November 2012, 20:10 at 8:10 pm #215203BenParticipantBest Driver: Nico Hulkenberg, fantastic drive bar the spin and Ham wouldn’t have been anywhere near if not for SC
Worst Driver: Paul di Resta, nowhere near his leading teammate and crashing into a wall to top it off
Best Team: Ferrari, first double podium since Korea 2010
Worst Team: Mercedes, both a lap down without SC
Best Overtake: Kimi on Schumacher, another clean move and payback from 2006
Best Funny-moment: Kimi, literally taking a trip down memory lane
Most Surprising Result: FI leading, MSC scoring, Vettel’s comeback (again)
Least Surprising Result: Grosjean and Maldonado crashing out within 5 laps
Special Mention to: Button, Alonso, Massa, Vettel, Schumacher, Petrov

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5740833Bahrain – joined turn 8 to 11
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5740839Shanghai – much more fast, sweeping corners
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5740826India – modified first and last turns
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5740859COTA – faster sequence leading to back straight, turn 15 is now a Hockenheim-style banked hairpin

4th November 2012, 15:59 at 3:59 pm #201762BenParticipantAlonso still 40% of a win behind Vettel
28th October 2012, 12:12 at 12:12 pm #213891BenParticipantHow many non-DRS passes were there? (excluding the first lap)
12th October 2012, 3:08 at 3:08 am #211976BenParticipantAltering car regulations will do nothing to help as the car behind cannot accelerate before the car in front. This is entirely a traction problem and is hardly related to dirty air or a car’s aerodynamics. Surely you don’t move before the car in front does at a traffic light? The problem is that new circuits such as COTA continue to have this hairpin-straight-hairpin sequence yet none of the ‘designers’ seem to have realised it is not conducive to overtaking.
