@illusive Yeah, considering we’ve seen replacement PU’s just because someone went into the barriers back end first at a relatively slow speed, I never even imagined Verstappens’ PU would be salvageable at 50g […]
This is all getting very ‘handbags-at-dawn’. It’s probably brilliant for the sport, I doubt Liberty are complaining.

@esploratore1 Sorry I was exaggerating for comedic reasons, I don’t know long the straight is other than it’s long. The circumference of the earth is 40km so, yeah 4,600km is about the width of Africa. Not the […]

@jerejj Mexico is that slow? I appreciate the stadium section is tediously slow, but I would have thought the 4,600km straight afterwards would have more than made up for it.
How far ahead did he come out? Because he really only needed an absolute fraction of a second more to come completely to a stop. Obviously he wasn’t to know where he’d feed back in and played it just a little too […]
@geekzilla9000 Not the daftest idea I’ve ever heard. Pretty good I think. Lewis would still have come through the field easily under that system however. But then, you can’t penalise him more because him and his […]
@rocketpanda I think the problem with a damaged car returning, is if a front wing going under the wheels at the restart and there’s a big shunt, and then people ask why, when there was ample time to repair it […]
@joshgeake 10 Years! Goodness, i’m getting old. Though I can see the idea that he was gambling on not being able to be overtaken, the ‘do whatever you want red flag’ rule ruined what was looking to be a […]
@mrfabulous a quick odds check tells me you can place a bet at 10,000-1. Which considering ‘Leicester to win the Premier League’ was 5,000-1, might be worth putting a shekel or two on? He does face the right […]
bernasaurus commented on the post, Raikkonen was "over-optimistic" in British GP clash – Perez 1 week, 4 days ago
Is this the first time this has happened? Pitting knowing you’ll lose points but taking away one from your teammates WDC rival, surely it is. Bottas gets flogged for, well being Bottas, but he’d get double flogged […]
If I recall correctly, I think Lance was quite gracious about being flipped over in Bahrain, essentially saying that most would’ve gone for that gap after he’d watched it back, but in the moment he hadn’t seen […]

I wish the FIA would appreciate how irritating it is trying to explain to my mum any of these Technical Directives or the motives / reasoning behind them. I’m sure if my mum was running F1 there would be a lot […]
bernasaurus commented on the post, Verstappen quickest in final practice before sprint qualifying 1 week, 6 days ago
Yeah, it seems weird to me. We’ve certainly never had anything like it before. Comes across as largely pointless.
Could just buy them karts, better racing, but sadly it’d probably more expensive than racing Veyron’s.

Though I don’t doubt he would rather be winning, and he is happy for them. His bank balance is a lot better for having left.
bernasaurus commented on the post, W Series graduates won't reach F1 without talent to succeed – Coulthard 2 weeks, 1 day ago
This isn’t a criticism of W Series (which I’m a fan of) please don’t get me wrong. I was under the impression Coulthard had a financial stake in the series. Does anyone know if that’s true? Or have I just imagined […]
Normally I’m quite impressed by how Toto conducts himself, but I can’t help but feel he / Mercedes could’ve handled this better.
Valtteri has looked like a broken man at times this season.
@kerrymaxwell How it is considered ‘Grade I’ seems bizarre to me. But I think it’s safe, though it’ll be weird to see F1 cars on it. I imagine overtaking will be near impossible, the width of two F1 cars is […]
