    Hi all,

I’m heading to the British GP for the first time this year. Unfortunately I can only go on Friday. I’ve read through all the previous posts and formulated a bit of a plan for GA on Friday. Do you guys agree with this…
    1. Village – good spot for GA as you get to see the complex and accelerate away.
    2. Luffield – good GA spot for the complex
    3. Becketts – good GA spot for high speed
    4. Vale – avoid it as there is a limited view

Does that info sound ok to most people? Any other tips to get a good view? My priority is trying to see the cars through the high speed Maggots-Becketts, and then hopefully a bit through slow speed through the complex.

Any help/advice would be welcome guys as it will be my first time at the circuit.

Also is there any planned F1Fanatic meet up planned on Friday? I’d definitely be up for that. It was great to meet @keithcollantine at the FOTA event at Williams F1 HQ, and would like to meet other F1F’s at Silverstone.

Have a great weekend everyone, and don’t forget your wellies!!

I’ll be up at around 5:30, thats the aim anyway!

So far I’ve found the “F1 Show” to be a bit ‘clunky’ and over cooked. But I have to say the commentary for Quali was absolutely superb. Crofty and M.Brundle could well turn out to be a dream team. I’m looking forward to seeing what the pre-race features are like from Sky, as the BBC features were mostly very good.

Wow, fascinating figures Keith. Interesting to see that 10% of the traffic comes from the States, I imagine this will increase towards Austin. Is there any concern that the UK proportion has dropped, or is it just a reflection that you’re overall traffic has increased and widened?

@sato113 – Yeah these are kind of my thoughts as well.

I’ve enjoyed Brundle being lead commentator on BBC, I for one didn’t usually select the 5Live comm’s when watching the race. But when I’ve listened to the practice sessions Crofty is a really good commentator, if a little dominating. Maybe he’ll reign it in a bit when he’s with Brundle?

@robk23 – awesome footage, particularly the start up and wheel spin away from Vettel!

You should have asked Horner or Newey where the exhausts are going to be on the RB8, that info would be worth a few quid!haha

I was on the main straight hoping for a few high speed runs, but it was too damp really so for the run with Vettel and Webber both out at the same time I got a decent spot at the top where Vettel did some great donuts.

@Eggry – Ah right, I don’t have a YouTube account unfortunately, I’ll look into it.

@Robk23 – I went down to the garage part but I think that as the busiest bit of whole show, so I opted for a good view of the area they did all the donuts! Did you get to meet anyone, or get some good photos down at the garage?

@Icthyes – still so gutted about Simoncelli, but glad his hair is living on with fans!haha

Awesome vide, so interesting to see them battle like this with homologated machinery!

I’ve got a quick few here that some people might be familiar with:

    1. Alfa 33/2 Daytona (Le Mans) – outclassed by the Porche’s of it’s era, but stunning to look at:

    2. Mercedes CLK LM or GTR road version – I saw the GTR at Mercedes World recently, and it is by far the most ridiculous road car I’ve ever seen!!

    3. Gulf Porsche 917 – I’ve recently invested in a copy of ‘Le Mans’ on Blu Ray, so I’ve got to put this one in here! It’s got to be up there with my favourite colour scheme ever:

@Asanator – have to agree with this, the cars do seem too easy to drive. Unfortunately I didn’t get F1 2010 because it was a choice between that and GT5, and I had to go with GT5 after the 5 year wait! But coming from GT5 to F1 2011 I expected a totally different experience; there was definitely some change in driving style needed though.

I’ve seen on the time-trial section people are putting in 01:08.00 laps of the Hungaroring! Bearing in mind that pole this year was 01:19.815, whichever way you look at it 01:08 is just plain wrong.
