6/10 only because I’m a Verstappen fan and my wife is a Ricciardo fan. It lost a point because the result was completely predictable yesterday.

+1 to this. I doubt he would have tried exactly that move on a less experienced driver. That was good clean racing between him and Kimi.

I quite enjoyed it. I think Lewis and Seb both dug deep in the closing laps. It wasn’t wheel to wheel but, given that on paper Seb should have had the tire advantage, I think a good performance. Plus, nice to see […]
brentrockwood commented on the post, Button to step down from race seat at end of 2016 5 years, 11 months ago
OK, I’m clearly a Button fan, I’m gonna get flamed for this, and I know it’s CRAZY, but if I was Mercedes, I would have replaced Nico with Button for next year. We know Button and Lewis get along, Button would […]

I’m very curious about that last point. The team stated repeatedly that they couldn’t tell Nico about the failure, but I am under the same impression as you, that the team can share safety related issues.

Which remains my favourite race of all time. :)

There’s discussion on the notebook that the matte finish actually reduces air resistance.

Agreed. Somehow, Verstappen is consistently able to overtake, where others say it is impossible. And, arguably save Monaco, he’s able to do it without incident.

Not to mention we’ve seen those low noses flip other cars in collisions at least twice.

Once again, Verstappen is a highlight.

+1 to more mechanical grip and more ground effect. I’ve been saying this (to myself :) ) for years.

@charleski lol. Good analogy. The Canadians can have moose.

Yup. Can’t stand the North American coverage. You have to watch the Sky stream. It’s so bad, in fact, I’m surprised Bernie doesn’t step in and do something.

The post-race press conference may have been the most entertaining part of the entire weekend.

For what it’s worth, I would love to believe that this is the beginning of something. When Lewis went to Mercedes, lots of folks thought he was crazy. Over a few years, that team built up to where it is today. […]

brentrockwood commented on the post, FIA preparing to ban FRIC suspension 8 years, 1 month ago
Agreed. There have been a number of fantastic races this season, if we are to believe F1Fanatic polls. I get that Mercedes are way in front, but there’s still a close-ish race between NR and LH, and some great […]

Fuel volume is not constant, but its mass does not change. That’s why all the regs are specified in kg, not litres.

In 2011, Button outscored Alonso, Webber, and Hamilton. He also outscored Hamilton overall in their three years together at McLaren. Button might not be flashy, and could use a lot of help in qualifying, but he […]

That’s what I was thinking. It probably have such a large effect on such low downforce setups.
