I think it actually works great to get on the grid and get going relatively fast and easily Peter. It just means that you postpone the actually building of a team that is able to dig down, sort out issues and […]

Yeah, and also it shows we (and F1) shouldn’t just throw drivers under the bus as soon as they/we often do the second things don’t go perfectly @sjaakfoo!

Good point, a bit of a missed opportunity there.

A lot better than staying with tooling grey though. While it is not exactly stunning, it looks far better than most of their liveries so far.

I’m fine with people looking it up and asking about it, he’s a public figure and the remark was public when made after all @banbrorace
But I see little reason to give it more attention than it deserves – he […]

That would be a positive sign @tifoso1989, it would mean they haven’t yet siphoned off most of that!

Yeah, it really depends on how the drivers do compared to each other.

Quite true Louie. It would be epic to see him have a shot at winning the 500 now, but regardless of whether it happens, he has already shown the world who he is and what he is able to do.

Indeed. Off course by then, the question the driver will ask would be: Why would I go to your team Mr. Steiner, when there are better teams interested in me.

Yeah, I think this is more about allowing people to persue their own goals over time @jerejj than anything about Mercedes long term planning to bring him back in.
It does show how Mercedes is build with a solid […]

Very good points made here @skipgamer.
Would be interesting to see drivers wanting to make a statement about these things cite the FIA statues they are perfectly aligned with when they next want to protest […]

Surely they only have to kindly ask the FIA for permission, right …

Good for Maserati – at least this way they will be able to make certain to get some attention. And it IS important that someone challenges the FIAs clampdown on pretty much anything that might be seen to be an […]

Yeah, I am a bit flustered by that too @darryn. Surely a racer like Andretti wanting in, and managing to get GM on board for it with their Cadillac brand is a good thing.
Sure, we will see how (and even IF) […]

Yeah, especially now that there shouldn’t be any performance updates I see no good reason for teams to not just do their season with the allocation as it stands.
They have gathered enough information and will […]

Oh, and it still means drivers will have to stand there and smile listening to representatives of any such regime giving the impression they are fine with things. Since they won’t be allowed not to.
