Hey Guys,
Apologies for the delay again. Having seen all the tracks, I was most impressed by @browny ‘s and @sepulhead ‘s . Both were very similar, in that they utilised meandering roads in hilly areas. However, I’d have to give the win to @sepulhead (Mr. Adams), as his track remained within the preferred track length requirements.

It has been one year since Hong Kong has lost its bid to host a Formula E race. Build a track in the city that does not necessitate the destruction of any structures. The track should preferably between 3-6km long. You are prohibited from using the area of old Kai Tak airport (area delineated below):

You have until the 28th of September.18th September 2015, 7:26 at 7:26 am #305375ching hoParticipanthttp://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6716886
5.3km, 21 Corners. Starts near the Marina, rotates anti-clockwise.

6.4km around Fuji. 21 turns.
Aimed to kill the front left tire.Starts with a slight left kink, into a long right hander, quickly followed by a left hairpin. Track opens into a long tightening right, then a short straight, followed by a left kink into 100R. A quick left turn leads to a gradually tightening 300R. The track climbs uphill, into a corkscrew-like chicane, followed by a long right turn. A Suzuka-style hairpin follows, then a downhill banked right hander into a long left hand turn under the track. Panasonic corner opens the track back out to the long pit straight.

However, there was one that was more equal than others. The circuit was brilliantly drawn, with the required long straight, as well as a continuum of fast, winding corners. Congratulations, @philereid .

The tracks hugely exaggerated proportions including a 45° banked turn, are rarely seen today amongst the numerous tilkedromes. Hence, I was saddened when it was replaced in 1999 by the lausitzring. Your task is as follows:
Create a modern day, twistier version of the AVUS circuit that emphasizes both straight line speed and high downforce. The track may be built anywhere in the world. The track must have a 4 kilometer long straight, as well as a long banked curve. The maximum track length is 15 kilometers. Bonus points for putting the straight on a highway. Please submit entries within one week from now. Have fun!

3.2km circuit, rotating anti-clockwise around the centre of Berlin. Starts outside the location of the former Fuhrerbunker. Widens to a sweeping left turn which tightens. A series of tightening right turns follows, and the track opens up to a short straight, heading towards a series of fast turns. A chicane is used to slow cars down as they dash through Brandenburg Gate, turning left, back to the pit straight.

My entry for this challenge. Track rotates clockwise. 1.7 miles. Location is Hong Kong’s old Kai Tak Airport. Starts with a triple right-hander, then a tight left hander. Opens up to a short straight, then a smooth right-left complex. Opens up to a longer straight, then a right-left chicane and long right hander.

Unlike Mr.Vmaxmuffin, I decided to go absolutely bonkers. Using the same pit straight. Drivers start with a short drag uphill, towards Turn 1. The blind apex opens towards a steep downhill section, towards turn 2, a long, downhill right hand curve, similar to Suzuka’s spoon curve. The track passes under itself, then climbs steeply again to turns 3 and 4 – a chicane resembling the corkscrew at Laguna Seca. The track drops back to the original pit straight, and leads to turn 5, a right hander, where positioning of the car is essential for the next corners. Turns 6 to 13 comprise of a massive rhythm section, where, again, positioning of the car is essential. Turn 13 necessitates a good exit to defend from other cars. Turn 14 is a tight left hander – an opportune overtaking spot, which opens up to turns 15 and 16, a downhill, off-camber right hander, similar to Malaysia’s turn 10 and 11. Turns 17 and 18 are two NASCAR-style banked, wide turns, which, again, funnel into turn 19, 20, and 21 – a double apex right hander similar to Malaysia’s turn 7 and 8. Again, the track heads sharply uphill into a fast right left chicane (mirrored eau rouge). After reaching the top of turn 24, drivers brake hard, swerving to the left of the track, as they negotiate a very steep downhill turn (turn 25). The entry is blind, and the curve crosses under the track. This then opens up to turn 26 and 27, two long, sweeping flat-out corners. Pit lane is identical.

Thank you very much for your entries. After closely looking at all of them, I have decided that, in my opinion, the best design belongs to @mfreire . I liked his attention to detail, from the intricate placement of the track, to the usage of surrounding terrain. To me, the track reminded me of a combination of Imola and Mount Panorama. Such a track is definitely unique, and differs itself than most tracks seen in F1 today, offering ample excitement and challenge. Once again, thank you very much for all your entries; I have thoroughly appreciated every one of them.
@mfriere, it’s your turn now.
30th October 2014, 13:34 at 1:34 pm #281387ching hoParticipantThank you very much @braketurnaccelerate. Your next challenge is as follows:
In 2008, Bernie was thinking of novel ways of making F1 exciting. He sat in his motorhome, with his old, frail fingers gripping the bright red crayon. He wanted to attract attention again, and despite his recent divorce, his tax dodging, and his bungled handling of prize money distribution, he wanted more. Then, an idea sprang up. He would create the first racetrack in the world with a randomly activated sprinkler system – after all, racing fans loved wet weather conditions. Bernie raced to the world map, and immediately decided on a place to hold this monumental race. A place which had ample water and money to run the race, and had a sane governor – California.
Your Job:
Design a racetrack within the state of California.Guidelines:
1) Track must be between 4-9km long
2) Track must be suitably wide at all times
3) No buildings can be demolished during the construction of this track
4) To save money on piping, track must be within 4km from a body of waterTimeline:
Please finish all entries by 9:00pm (Hong Kong Time), on the 6th of NovemberOnce again, thank you very much!

Pits: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6470150Trying the “Urban Le Mans” approach again. 6.9km, runs anti-clockwise. Track starts with a run of three long straights, separated by two chicanes. A series of two tight left corners follow, which opens up to a collection of wider, “sweepier” corners. Two left handers than open back onto the pit straight. The pits are to the left, and should be wide enough, given that greenery is reconfigured.
