ParticipantThanks guys, I will take your advice and take the metro from Longueil. I can get a bus from my hotel to the metro stop so I can have a couple of beers if the weather is warm. On the last day I will probably drive to the station as you suggest so I can head straight out to the airport.
Really looking forward to it and they should have sorted out quali by then!13th March 2016, 8:49 at 8:49 am #315120colin5107
ParticipantHi all
I am booked into a hotel in the Longueull area which is west of the river and about a 50 minute walk from the circuit
I will have a car over the weekend, does anyone know of somewhere between Longueull and the south end of the circuit where it is easy to park?
I would be happy with a 20 minute walk to the circuit but ideally would want to be somewhere where I can easily get back to the hotel and out to the airport on Sunday evening.
Any suggestions?12th March 2016, 11:04 at 11:04 am #315075colin5107
ParticipantHi all
I have a two week business trip to the US in June and I managed to time it to finish in New York on Thursday 9th. I will then hop a flight to Montreal and have three days at the circuit. Booked a seat in section 3 of Stand 11, which I understand from your other comments is one of the better view points. I fly back to London on the Sunday night BA flight.
Really looking forward to it, hope to see some of you there!16th August 2015, 11:12 at 11:12 am #303210colin5107
ParticipantThanks Mark – ear protectors with built in radio, is that something that is on sale at the track? They had them at Silverstone but there was nothing like that at Austin.

ParticipantHi all
What was that about picking up English commentary on the circuit radio? Do I need to download a Spa app or is it accessed via the web on local wifi?I was going to upgrade my Official F1 app to access the live commentary but is not clear if this feature works outside of the UK
Any advice would be welcomed!
Have given up trying to monitor the weather forecast. Yesterday it was thunderstorms on race day today it is bright sunshine! I suspect we will be treated to a little of everything, fortunately I splashed out on the Gold 3 covered grandstand but I do plan to move around on Friday and Saturday.
Not long now!!!

ParticipantHi all
Is anyone else staying at camping F1? It looks to about a 20 minute walk North East of the track.
I am driving from Frankfurt airport on Thursday, and should arrive at the campsite by 1pm and then head for the pit walk queue. As parking is free on Thursday is it best to drive or will it be really busy? Mind you if it is chucking it down I will probably drive anyway.
Any tips on how to blag/bribe my way into the paddock area? I have never been to spa before and I may not get there again so I got to at least try! Nearly managed it at Austin but did get into all of the hospitality areas on the Thursday.6th August 2015, 19:09 at 7:09 pm #302933colin5107
ParticipantWhat time is the pit walk on Thursday?

ParticipantDear Vince, Camping Eau Rouge is southwest of the circuit and is about a half hour walk to the track.
You would come to the track at either Rivage or the Paul frère curve, both are at the far end of the track in the more countryside section.
There seems to be a few routes available depending upon whether you want to walk along the roads or through the forest. just follow the crowds!!24th June 2015, 20:35 at 8:35 pm #300787colin5107
ParticipantHi guys
What is Spa like on the Thursday? Is there access to the circuit at all and if not what is the best place to hang out?
I will get to camping F1 at midday and would then head to the circuit if there is anything there
Any advice would be welcome20th October 2013, 11:14 at 11:14 am #216626colin5107
ParticipantHi all, having lost my bonoculars at a GT meeting at Silverstone last year I need to replace them as I am headed to Austin in a little over three weeks time. (not long now!) In the UK a reasonable pair are expensive and I assume that like events in the UK, they will be selling binoculars at the circuit? If so should I buy there instead, everything is so much cheaper in the US compared to the UK but at the circuit the prices are likely to be inflated. Also, at UK events the organisers supply inexpensive ear piece radios that allow you to hear the trackside commentary, did they have something similar at Austin last year? I will have an iPad with me and if there is access to wi-fi at the circuit I could probably hook up to some form of race coverage with commentary. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
