Great weekend as always and something quite bizarre happened to me which i thought id share
Last year in Malaysia an american was wandering around the train station in kl looking lost and asked me how to get to the circuit so i showed him
He was only sitting at the small bar/food stall on friday at turn 1 when i walked in and we both did that “i know you” doubletake
The world is a village i honestly couldnt believe it

Not really but theres plenty food places nearby that cater for the local tastes, also the usual burger joints in the train station.Ive stayed in that Hilton the last 3 years,im quite happy going local
Bintang is the nightlife area but its very ex pat orientated, basically up around the towers but its few stops on the metro from Sentral

Yeah its a basically as soon as they are full they go.The train bus combo is superb,a few times ive been sat in my hotel room in downtown kl just after an hr after ive left the circuit, but ive also been a couple of hours
Has anybody used the bus shuttle from beside the towers (i think) to the circuit.Im staying close to there this year so may go that way,i usually stay at the hilton at the train station hence always using the train

Use one of the parking lots theres free buses to them and back.Or use a really easy feature like Ferrari world again there free buses to take you there.Worth noting that the after race concerts are usually top notch so you might want to take them in aswell as they are free with your ticket

Bay grandstand is miles away from the poduim so getting there for the champagne will be a no no.There is a pit walk/autograph session the the thursday evening but check the track website for timings etc

They usually leave up at the rugby staduim (sixfields) and basically from about 0600 onwards they leave when a bus is full, the drop off and pick up are in the same place. There is parking there aswell to leave your car if you dont want to pay the track prices

I just cant see past sitting at k1 on the first corner,i actually got a freebie into the paddock club 1 year and left to watch the race on the first corner.Always loads of action there
Ive never stayed in the sepang area i always stay in the city and normally use the train/bus combo.Loads to do and see at night

6am is a bit early ,i usually aim to be in monaco for about 9ish and that still gives me plenty of time to grab a coffee and a croissant before taking my seat before the days action starts, unless you are in sector rocher (general admission)
Theres a street with plenty bars/cafes that are good for lunch/drinks in between sessions aswell.Really easy to find, you will probably walk past it on the way to your stand but you may have to leave a few minutes early when the support action is on to get a seat/table

Booked up today.Staying in Nice and st devote on saturday(a) and Rascasse (v)
on sunday
For those looking for directions its really easy to find your way around, basically if your in a stand in Monaco(swimming pool, rascasse, harbour) head down the hill from the train statiion or if your up at casino just head for monte carlo but it really isnt that much of a walk
Best advice i can give to anyone attending for the first time is to hang around until they open the track and join in or soak up the party atmosphere.Beer is really cheap in supermarkets
