Before I throw my tuppence worth into the mix, Kanye??????

The guy that walked onto stage in the middle of someone else’s award ceremony and shouted “that’s my award, I deserve that!”

Can anyone imagine Lewis storming onto a podium in similar fashion? Kanye he is not!

I think the reason is he is too honest.
When he feels down you see it, when he feels happy you see it. When he feels he has earned his success you see it and when he feels like he has let himself down you see it. People are accustomed to seeing a facade, an interface or a barrier between the person inside and the public projection. For some reason a lot of people are more comfortable with this than the more human and immediate personality that is Lewis.

Try an experiment if you dare. Be completely honest about everything to everybody. Some people won’t like it!

Add to this honesty unbelievable skill and success and you’ve just painted a target on your back for a lot of people!

My personal preference is that others were more like Lewis. Imagine seeing a politician being completely honest in an interview!

    A few examples of this…

Vettel – Finger boy. He was number one for four years. He indicated this with his finger. “I am number one!” Lots of negative reaction.

Schumacher – SEVEN time world champion, but how dare he think he is the best driver. How arrogant!

Jacques Villeneuve, Nigel Mansel, Alain Prost, Nico Rosberg, Fernando Alonso. “I don’t like what is happening around me and I’m going to say so.” Attitude problem!

We don’t like honesty it would seem, and Lewis does honesty in spades!

Yep. Honda have confirmed that although they do not require a second team for development data, if a team approached them they would consider it. I think McLaren have exclusivity on works team status but Honda can supply other teams.
Question is, would RedBull actually jump? Currently Renault’s biggest team so psuedo works team, main sponsor Infinity. Give this up to be a customer, one rung down the ladder from McLaren? Added to which, the same steep development curve as Renault.
Can’t see that this would be a good strategy.
