One can easily say that the reason the per engine costs in the present time are so expensive is because they are made to last longer, no?
JayR commented on the post, Bottas says he "took one for the team" 4 years, 5 months ago
Bottas was definitely faster in quali yesterday but I feel like he wasn’t up to the pace of Hamilton in the race. Hamilton was within 1.5s of him the entire first stint and even put together a purple sector the […]

Race isn’t starting the same time as FP2 on Friday?
JayR commented on the post, 'DRS train' thwarted Ricciardo's attempts to pass Raikkonen – Horner 4 years, 6 months ago
Let’s be honest if we gave them free tyre choice, chances are the whole field would probably start on the same compound or a large majority of it. This would, in most cases, lock out the top 10 from even having a […]

Does this assume Hartley remains on at Toro Rosso? What happens to Checo and Ocon if Force India folds? Is it likely Force India will fold if others continue playing hardball?

Hasn’t Lewis always been a religious guy though? I even remember him in church after Monaco 15 race where Mercedes mucked up with the extra pitstop.
I’m not even a fan of his but I know he’s always on that […]

Why don’t more F1 teams do more content like this like Mercedes? Mercedes seem to be on another level with fan engagement.

Hamilton and Schwarzenegger’s “I’ll be back” from a few years ago is still a highlight for me.
JayR commented on the post, Hamilton: Decision not to pit was "most confusing second and a half" 4 years, 8 months ago
I was thinking this exactly. Although it would still have meant a Merc 1-2 with Bottas winning. Maybe Lewis could have dropped into 3rd or 4th by the time his tyres got up to Temps if it was Kimi and Verstappen […]
JayR commented on the post, Hamilton: Mercedes now the second or third-fastest team 4 years, 11 months ago
Merc were .3s slower in Bahrain and .5s slower in China. That is Merc 2014 kind of performance. Why are we holding out hope that this is not the new reality? I know we don’t want it to be true so that we can get […]
JayR commented on the post, Mercedes thought they would win, Wolff admits 4 years, 11 months ago
Apart from Max, has any Driver done more to harm their stock other than Bottas? Leclerc maybe but he’s still a rookie. And even for Max, he has a contract through 2020 so the pressure on him isn’t as much as it is […]

Was it Fangio who said that you try to win in F1 as slowly as you can. I know Lewis repeated it after the heated China 2015 race.
JayR commented on the post, Hamilton's plea for diversity is a noble goal which faces practical problems 5 years ago
I’m not sure I agree with this POV. To me it’s more of an exposure issue. I come from a country where renting out a kart for an hour costs 50$ and the income of the majority of households is under 2$ a day. If a […]
JayR commented on the post, Analysis: Mercedes' missing seconds that cost Hamilton victory in Melbourne 5 years ago
Ferrari bluffed Merc. Just before Kimi pitted, Lewis had started putting in some Hammertime laps. Can’t remember how much it was but I remember him being asked to do something like a 1:17 and he did better than […]

I thought Lewis got to keep his race cars from championship wins in his last contract? Or was that something he wanted to put in his new contract just like Seb?
JayR commented on the post, Ferrari confirm Raikkonen will drive for them again in 2018 5 years, 7 months ago
Option 4: Ferrari signed Kimi because they do not care about the Constructor’s Championship but only care about the driver’s championship. They’ll be paid more than Merc anyway even if they finish 3rd in the constructors.
JayR commented on the post, Letting Bottas past was 'tough' but 'I'm a man of my word' – Hamilton 5 years, 8 months ago
I’m not sure Ferrari really care about the WCC as much as they do about the WDC. They’ll be given a bigger share of the money than the team that wins the WCC anyway. So they put it all into the WDC. That’s why […]

James Allen said something along the likes of: most teams who give that instruction to let a driver by to attack the guys ahead, tell the guy who has let his teammate through(BOT in this case) that he has to keep […]

Valtteri did his part well. No doubt about that. But the points difference between Bottas and Hamilton is a bit misleading. Of the races where Bottas has out-qualified Lewis, the only one where he had an outright […]
