I agree, I think it probably did look worth a punt when they gave him the seat, but I think it was more about forcing through new drivers rather than moving yet another driver back down to the B team and losing […]

Can’t say I am, no, not after the way they’ve treated most of their drivers over the past few years. They’ve not exactly had a dignified couple of seasons, even if they’ve succeeded on the technical front – the […]

I loved Yuki in F2 and really wanted him to do well, but Alpha Tauri just surely have been resentful of the Red Bull hierarchy for not just putting Albon back in the seat. This was especially highlighted when they […]
Sarah commented on the post, 2015 F1 driver rankings #11: Felipe Massa 7 years, 1 month ago
Exactly, Massa has always had excellent starts – I think the new procedure didn’t do any favours for him, or many others for that matter. There was definitely nothing wrong with his start at Silverstone! I guess […]

Deserved, due to his whining unbecoming of a driver of his stature. You made this bed, you lie in it! He may be a great driver, but a great decision-maker he is not.

Interesting how some people have now decided Bottas isn’t as good as they thought, because he’s not crushing Massa – maybe Massa is just better than they remember…?

But Michelin would’ve done exactly the same thing if they’d been asked to produce tyres…

Yeah – and as several pundits and ex-engineers have pointed out, this is an aero problem, not a tyre problem. Being stuck in the wake of another car is really bad for the driver behind, so they can’t get close […]

I don’t think McLaren asked Honda to make engines that don’t finish races or get F1 cars out of Q1. But Pirelli *have* been asked to make tyres that degrade quickly, and that’s what they’ve been doing.
Sarah commented on the post, Michelin vs Pirelli: Which tyres are right for F1? 7 years, 5 months ago
Wouldn’t a tyre manufacturer have to do what they were told to anyway…? So surely it doesn’t matter who makes them – it’s the brief given to them that needs to be changed, if anything. And I’m not sure more […]
Sarah commented on the post, What should be the top priorities for F1? 7 years, 6 months ago
I definitely think helping the smaller teams survive (and be competitive) should be the top priority for F1, but that’s probably something that can be achieved with minimal tinkering with the sporting side of it – […]

Good point. Williams *did* let their drivers race – it was just that Bottas couldn’t get past safely due to those aero problems. Which made Williams seem like the bad guys in the eyes of some (namely Sky), when it […]
