Indeed, my bad, he was second behind Lewis.
GechiChan commented on the post, Verstappen expected to avoid gearbox change and penalty 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Yeah, the luck on this guy this season:
– lost the race in the final laps of Baku when a tire exploded
– was taken out by Bottas when leading the race in Hungary, a track notorious for lack of overtakes
– got […]GechiChan commented on the post, Vettel ran all-women karting event in Saudi Arabia ahead of country's first F1 race 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Depends on what you mean by publicity… If it’s about raising awareness about how women were not allowed to drive just a car a couple of years ago (and on many other issues much bigger that are happening in Saudi […]

It’s actually mentioned in the article: “Asked whether denying Verstappen the title…”, so absolutely no problem with Keith’s approach on this one.

Not sure if Dietrich Mateschitz cares about the bad publicity, he only wants to see the results. And although controversial and downright obnoxious, Horner delivered the most with what he had, winning 4 […]

We’re safe on this one, as I don’t think Kimi reads anything other than his dash.

Not really the problem here, it would have been even worse if he was all by himself with no engineer in his ear. Daniel would have just trusted the broken fuel readings all race, not knowing for sure that the […]
GechiChan commented on the post, 2021 Qatar Grand Prix Star Performers 6 months ago
his only blemish this weekend was not slowing down for the yellow flags. Other than that, it would have been really difficult to beat Hamilton even with a front row start. Lewis never seemed to be on the limit […]
GechiChan commented on the post, Red Bull on red alert as dominant Hamilton continues assault on Verstappen's lead 6 months ago
I think Max will crash into Lewis at some point during Abu Dhabi, to take both of them out. It’s his only chance to win it. And if Perez finishes in front of Bottas, they might win both championships.
GechiChan commented on the post, Hamilton grateful for points gain at circuit Mercedes expected to be their "Achilles heel" 6 months ago
RedBull was indeed faster until the half-way point, but Max failed to score big in Baku, Silverstone and Hungary. Those missed opportunities and bad luck will probably cost them both championships.

I would have put Gasly there as a star. He’s been fighting the Alpines all by himself, as he did all season, and never put a foot wrong all weekend. Clean, composed, fast… not sure if that car could have […]

I don’t think Mercedes / RB / Ferrari support should be a negative. If you are talented, big teams will get you in their program, but it’s up to you to prove you deserve the seat. Gio had Ferrari backing, so he […]

I suppose it’s a step forward?
It should be a step forward from both angles: racing skill and money. The younger Finn should be way better than the retiring Finn (especially in qualy), while Zhou’s money might h […]GechiChan commented on the post, 'When money rules F1 can be ruthless' says Giovinazzi as he loses drive to Zhou 6 months, 1 week ago
Yeah, it is ruthless, but those really talented (Russel, Lando, even Ocon not to mention Leclerc or Max) can overcome this money barrier. Gio didn’t show outstanding skill or big improvements over the couple of […]

RedBull dominant car? They barely won in Austin, less than a second in front. This is a far cry from the dominant years of Mercedes when they lapped the entire field.

Wonder if it was Ocon in front how it would have panned out…
GechiChan commented on the post, Verstappen wasn't sure Red Bull's "aggressive" strategy would pay off for win 7 months ago
These 2 are in a league of their own. Granted, Bottas started from way back, but Perez who looked in better form this weekend ended up 40 seconds behind the leaders. That’s almost 1 second per lap.
GechiChan commented on the post, Analysis: Why Mercedes can "live with" Hamilton's Turkish GP points loss 7 months ago
expoloding tires in Baku didn’t help either… The lead should have been much bigger, as Max most likely lost 3 GP wins this season by no fault of his own (maybe only Silverstone is debatable as I think he could […]
