George O'Donnell commented on the post, W Series confirms 17 drivers for 2022 including youngest-ever racer Juju Noda 1 year, 2 months ago
Really disappointing (although not surprising) that Irina Sidorkova isn’t taking part this year. She showed a lot of potential in the races she contested in 2021 and I hope this doesn’t derail her career.

George O'Donnell commented on the post, Sainz backs F1's Safety Car rule change after lost chance to fight for "first win" in Abu Dhabi 1 year, 2 months ago
Isn’t this irrelevant anyway because if all the cars had unlapped themselves, the final lap of the race should have been run behind the safety car as per the regulations?

I think I read somewhere previously that Gasly’s girlfriend is from Ukraine. Scary times.

George O'Donnell commented on the post, No spectators or live television coverage at first test for new 2022 F1 cars 1 year, 4 months ago
Crazy! There’s so much interest in the new cars – the first time they are all in the same place at the same time and it’s in private.

George O'Donnell commented on the post, Channel 4 secures exclusive Formula E live broadcast rights for UK 1 year, 4 months ago
This is a really good point. My TV is fairly small and I struggle to read the graphics at the best of times even when viewing a HD feed. My parents can’t get Freeview (due to living in a valley) so use FreeSat, […]

George O'Donnell commented on the post, FIA's IndyCar superlicence weighting "ridiculous" – O'Ward 1 year, 4 months ago
@proesterchen Thanks for your reply, I see what you mean!
I guess I see it the opposite way, it shows how competitive the series is rather than being a negative. If it’s compared to F1, there’s a massive desire […]

George O'Donnell commented on the post, FIA's IndyCar superlicence weighting "ridiculous" – O'Ward 1 year, 4 months ago
I agree with @nerrticust here and disagree with @proesterchen
The depth of talent in the Indycar field is vast – drivers who have come to Indycar from a number of other series; the top drivers have incredible […] -
George O'Donnell commented on the post, Russell completes first simulator day as Mercedes race driver 1 year, 4 months ago
The story posted about Max and George’s former karting team mate who is trying to break into the NFL is fascinating for me. My two favourite sports are motor sports and American Football, and I went to Durham […]

George O'Donnell commented on the post, Russell given three-place grid penalty for Sainz collision 1 year, 10 months ago
Crazy. The problem here is that Russell was clearly at fault, and the stewards have previously shown that if there’s an incident where someone is clearly at fault then it results in a penalty. But it’s way too […]

George O'Donnell commented on the post, Brawn urges fans to "keep an open mind" over new Sprint races 1 year, 11 months ago
@robbie Not quite. To me, open minded means being open to success or failure. To do that needs critical appraisal. I think there’s been a complete lack of critical appraisal for this proposal.
I have no problem […]

George O'Donnell commented on the post, Brawn urges fans to "keep an open mind" over new Sprint races 1 year, 11 months ago
@robbie I feel though that Ross Brawn saying to be ‘open minded’ is really saying that we shouldn’t criticise these qualifying proposals until they have been tried and have failed. That in particular is completely […]

George O'Donnell commented on the post, Brawn urges fans to "keep an open mind" over new Sprint races 1 year, 11 months ago
I generally think fans are open minded to new ideas. However if an idea is really bad (like sprint qualifying races) then it’s completely reasonable to call it out before they first happen. In real life people […]

George O'Donnell commented on the post, De Vries wins as energy shortage brings Valencia race to farcical end 2 years, 1 month ago
@john-h At first I didn’t understand but it makes complete sense thinking about it. Very interesting! I wonder if it’s actually within the rules.

George O'Donnell commented on the post, De Vries wins as energy shortage brings Valencia race to farcical end 2 years, 1 month ago
Why did so many cars stop out on track on the final lap. I realise that they ran out of ‘usable’ energy but they actually still would have had a lot of ‘unusable’ energy left in their batteries – might it have […]

George O'Donnell commented on the post, Formula E must "learn from mistakes" says Da Costa after bizarre end to Valencia race 2 years, 1 month ago
The end of the race was a farce, but at least it was a fair farce. I really don’t like the idea of the race director having discretion about how much energy is taken off – how are the teams supposed to calculate […]

George O'Donnell commented on the post, London and USA return to Formula E calendar as Mexico round moves to Puebla 2 years, 1 month ago
Every round is a double header except Monaco. It reminds me of the old GP2 calendars!

George O'Donnell commented on the post, Stroll loses seventh place to Gasly after post-race penalty for lap 11 pass 2 years, 1 month ago
Stroll was in the wrong here with this manoeuvre but it is so so so unfair to apply this penalty after the race! I think if the stewards miss something like this then it would be better to just let it slide. Two […]

George O'Donnell commented on the post, New format but familiar problems in Formula 2's first triple-header weekend 2 years, 1 month ago
I’m not a fan when it’s really difficult to answer the simple question of ‘Who won?’ Well three drivers won races with different sets of rules to set each race and ultimately no driver really took the headlines.
