Giggsy11 replied to the topic Button vs. Rosberg in the forum

I’m not sure if its because I’m British but I think Button just edges this. Button was hands down the best driver in mixed conditions/ slicks on a damp track but Rosberg wasn’t a standout driver in any particular category, he was just very very consistent. Both deserving champions and I’m delighted for both of them to bow out when they wanted to.
Giggsy11 commented on the post, Two rule changes F1 could make to stop Verstappen's 'dangerous' moves 5 years, 11 months ago
Notice the commentator instantly questions whether the stewards would get involved after the race. Its a block and if that isn’t illegal in F1 then I’m really surprised we haven’t had more deaths in this sport. […]

Really struggling to see how this is still a debate. He looks in the mirror and waits for a move to be made and then makes his move, its blocking and shameful “racecraft”! If this wasn’t F1’s Golden boy and […]

Why would this title mean anymore to Lewis? We hear the same crap every year and each championship is becoming an easier cake walk for him.

Giggsy11 commented on the post, Engine rules should let teams catch up – Newey 6 years, 6 months ago
I was thinkig of a way to make performance of each engine relatively equal yet let them be a detrimental factor on a race if it could.
Just spit-balling an idea but what if engines where built to a […]

Can you give me the exact amounts from each team please? There is no substance to your comment.

Bring back the blue and yellow :P It’d be nice to see some more colour on the grid

So to wade in on this subject, my interpretation so far:
Pirelli choose 3 different sets for the whole weekend (ie. soft, medium, hard).
The softest set must be used in Q3 by all 10 cars (ie. soft)
They then […]Giggsy11 replied to the topic New TV Coverage Intro Song in the forum

Giggsy11 commented on the post, Refuelling return 'may not change strategy much' 7 years, 2 months ago
What F1 misses is the hero aspect. Go watch a race from 2000-2008 and you will see how hard drivers like Mika, Schumacher, Kimi, Alonso and Hamilton had to push on low fuel. Martin Brundle was in awe at times […]

Changing the points will never make the sport greatly better. All drivers would overtake if they had the chance, the problem is that they have difficulty doing so, meaning the issue is in the design of the cars/tires/track etc and not because of a mindset.

What I love most about bringing back refueling is the opportunity to see how good each driver is again. I have been watching races from 2000 and 2007 recently and you can see how good drivers like Schumacher, […]
Giggsy11 replied to the topic Why does Lewis get so much criticism? in the forum Formula One 7 years, 3 months ago
Covert racism does play a huge part in every day life especially in sports and I believe this to be more of a fit then full blown racism. F1 at times can seem like a old boy’s club and I can definitely see this as an issue towards how Hamilton is treated but there are other factors.
Personally I don’t particularly warm to Lewis, I appreciate his…[Read more]

Everyone is prone to off days but I don’t think Mercedes did much wrong today Vettel just had the pace. Pitting during the safety car makes sense if you were on a three stop (which they were by the end of the […]

Conspiracy Theory: As we all know Bernie is getting on in years and there has been talk about his replacement. Is he trying to take F1 down with him or is he just senile? He hasn’t said or done one good thing for the sport for the last few years its miles past the ridiculous phase and entering tedious now. I’m surprised that there hasn’t been…[Read more]

Fernando as long as that Honda engine is there or there abouts. I think we all know what Fernando brings even with a sub-par car.
Giggsy11 replied to the topic Favourite driver helmet of all time? in the forum Formula One 7 years, 6 months ago
There’s quite a few that I like so I don’t have a personal favourite:
The only one of Kimi’s helmets I actually like is the one he wore in 2003.
The same goes for Alonso, his helmet design got busier and busier with each year that passed. I like the 2005 version, it was simple but affective.
Button’s Helmet in 2009 just looked awesome with…[Read more]
