It would be nice if they could have career numbers but I think going as far as F3 wouldn’t be practical with 99 numbers and drivers dropping out and new ones joining from other series.
6th April 2019, 21:07 at 9:07 pm #391105glynhParticipantI’m starting to get the feeling the 1000th race celebrations are going to be a let down. I follow F1 closely and apart from the countdown and a logo change I’ve seen nothing advertised for what should be a huge event…
23rd March 2019, 21:44 at 9:44 pm #389584glynhParticipantWasn’t a fan of the idea but I enjoyed it in Australia, it added some tension to the end of the race when overtaking looked unlikely.
19th December 2018, 20:38 at 8:38 pm #383284glynhParticipantProbably going to use now TV to get sky if it’s reasonable. Would like to support channel 4 but even with the less entertaining races I can’t stand missing parts in highlights.
20th July 2018, 21:24 at 9:24 pm #372936glynhParticipantWill there be local splitscreen? I actually just came off playing F12011 because of the splitscreen championship and really miss it.
19th May 2018, 21:07 at 9:07 pm #367981glynhParticipantIn general the comments here are pretty good but an ignore button would be nice for the occasional poster who just repeats the same thing. Another site I use lets you edit within 2 minutes which works well.
I’ve nothing against ‘likes’ but I think downvotes set the wrong tone and lead to abuse.
23rd April 2018, 20:30 at 8:30 pm #365561glynhParticipantIt would be interesting to know how hard drivers like to push at a street circuit like this as opposed to circuits with run off. Is there an element of playing it safe to gain places from attrition?
On that subject I think this race could be more like the first one with drivers taking less risks after last year although I hope I’m wrong.
6th April 2018, 21:27 at 9:27 pm #364226glynhParticipantI think timings are pretty essential for any viewer so we could do with more although I didn’t notice a massive lack of information to be honest. Having multiple screens is awkward and tends to take away from the race.
On a side note it’s strange that the car outline graphics don’t have a halo on them.
24th March 2018, 21:30 at 9:30 pm #363297glynhParticipantI laughed at the theme at first, thinking it was over the top but it worked really well there.
I liked the montage to, it was a great selection of clips that bring back memories and anything with Murray Walker in is a bonus for me.
11th February 2018, 17:33 at 5:33 pm #358675glynhParticipantI’m against the halo to (and I think getting rid of grid girls was patronising) but I think those issues and other on track issues aren’t going to cause the same problems as multiple countries showing F1 on pay TV.
I think the lack of new fans is seriously going to hurt F1 long term so liberty either need to get more races on free to air or try having their own subscription service.
If we take a step back the races themselves are as good ever but the sport needs viewers and therefore sponsors to stay on top.
7th February 2018, 21:58 at 9:58 pm #358600glynhParticipantI like the sound of engines and I would miss them but in all honesty I doubt that would last more than a few races.
If I listed everything I like about motorsport the sound would be far from my priority and in the 4 years I’ve watched Formula E it was only the first 2 races I noticed the sound, I think the racing itself is more important.
11th October 2017, 19:58 at 7:58 pm #353722glynhParticipantSadly I don’t think there’s any one thing that can be done,it has to be a gradual change.
This site, while one of the better ones, is subject to the same issues as everywhere.Unfortunately people tend to comment on the negative rather than the positive and I think people tend to instinctively argue with anything they don’t like as opposed to thinking things through. E.g. If someone says they don’t like Hamilton they get called racist instead of having a discussion about his achievements.
All you can do is ignore the worst comments, enjoy the good ones and try and be decent when you post. At least it’s not the YouTube comments. :)
10th October 2017, 23:35 at 11:35 pm #353715glynhParticipantI think for the majority of races Mercedes is the fastest car, definitely over a single lap, but Ferrari is more consistent in races in terms of performance so it’s very close.
29th May 2017, 23:29 at 11:29 pm #343298glynhParticipantI think this is what you want https://www.pitpass.com/58762/Chinese-GP-Driver-Tyre-Strategies
13th May 2017, 12:08 at 12:08 pm #342145glynhParticipantCan you use screen mirroring instead? I’ve only done it with a TV and phone before but it should work, you just need to activate it in the settings of both devices.
