George May commented on the post, 'Let us judge if we can race with Covid', some drivers urge 1 year ago
Yeah nice on guys. You judge whether it you can race or not and don’t worry about the marshals, medical staff, support staff and any of their families in countries where they may or may not have access to modern […]
George May commented on the post, Hamilton also summoned to stewards over contact with Verstappen at turn 27 1 year, 3 months ago
If you watch Max’s onboard he slows down from miles back and Lewis does not go past (presumably as he hasn’t been told what’s going on). Max floors it after he’s been shunted into from behind.
Look at it from […]

Says it like it’s a good thing.
A disqualification in quali *should* result in starting from the back.
George May commented on the post, "It's not Yuki's fault": AlphaTauri boss defends Tsunoda after Red Bull criticism 1 year, 4 months ago
Watching the on board from Perez it looks like the amount of dust kicked up was maybe the distraction? Yuki has done the rioting and pulled off, but unfortunately due to the surface it’s kicked up dust and looks […]
George May commented on the post, Stopping teams parking up is just one of F1's problems with stand-alone sprint races 1 year, 4 months ago
Just require all drivers entered into the championship to participate in a kart race on Friday afternoon if they’re so desperate to give the fans something else to watch.
George May commented on the post, Hamilton set for 10-place grid penalty after engine change 1 year, 5 months ago
Or is this because the Merc factory team are still actually running more aggressive engine modes than the customer teams have access to?
George May commented on the post, Ricciardo to discuss Grosjean crash coverage with F1 as Vettel says more "respect" is needed 2 years, 3 months ago
Interestingly the cycling world is praising F1s handling of this as they waited until it was known Grosjean was OK before broadcasting the images.
Replays of the crash have often been broadcast before we know […]
George May commented on the post, Honda building new F1 engine for 2021 title bid in final year 2 years, 5 months ago
Honda will not sell the IP to this engine to another company, I don’t think that’s how they operate as a company.
I’ve been involved in downhill mountain bike racing for years, in the mid-2000s Honda turned up […]
George May commented on the post, Two teams not supporting reverse-grid race plan for double-headers 2 years, 9 months ago
I’m in favour of this.
Given that it’s only for a short, qualifying race and not for the main, championship points deciding race I think it would be good to watch. Also, this year is going to be the most […]

@glennb – as the others have said you are describing sample collection and not testing, the test kit will be in the lab.

the real mortality rate is around 0,6%
It’s currently around 5-6% in Italy and spiked slightly higher due to the strain their healthcare system is under with the number of cases, this highlights how important […]

720P isn’t really that bad.
For £200/year?
George May commented on the post, Should F1 race on despite Coronavirus? Seven Australian GP talking points 3 years ago
I can’t see the difference between it and every other yearly flu outbreak
Please read through this thread written by an Italian medic currently dealing with the situation there.
1/ I may be repeating myself, but I want to fight this sense of security that I see outside of the epicenters, as if nothing was going to happen "here". The media in Europe are reassuring, politicians are reassuring, while there's little to be reassured of. #COVID19 #coronavirus

First it was cigarettes and asbestos that weren’t bad for you (honest), and now it is climate change.

Liquid ammonia would be a horrendous option and not something you would want anyone to be exposed to.
So, I think if you managed to keep your liquid H2 fuel thermally isolated then it’ll stay liquid, however […]

Brilliant!
George May commented on the post, F1 aims to create "world’s first net zero-carbon hybrid internal combustion engine" 3 years, 4 months ago
Hydrogen as a fuel has roughly half the caloric value (from memory) as petrol, so you need double the liquid volume to cover a similar distance at a similar efficiency.
Super-cooled hydrogen – what’s going to […]

Is it not the case that driving slowly with one stop is often better and maintains track positions than driving faster and going through more tyres though?
I say mandatory 5 stops and the drivers can go flat […]
George May commented on the post, F1 proposes replacing engine grid penalties with ballast penalties 3 years, 6 months ago
I’d prefer championship points penalties as that doesn’t effect the racing at all and seems fair for exceeding the parts limits.
