Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, Perez on pole after Verstappen's driveshaft fails, Alonso inherits second from Leclerc 2 months, 1 week ago
Given Piastri was a tenth up on Norris on both their last runs in Q1 before Norris crashed… you are wrong.

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, "It's definitely easier" – drivers describe how new cars can run closer than ever 1 year, 3 months ago
You can still have the rear wing creating more drag (and hence more effective DRS) while the rest of the car creates less drag overall.

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, Sydney evaluating F1 street track plan to lure Australian GP away from Melbourne 1 year, 7 months ago
I’m not a government apologist, but I do think we have faired pretty well in Australia despite the frustrations of lockdowns.
We were one of only 5 world economies to have grown beyond pre-pandemic levels by Q1 […]

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, F2 leader Piastri says being overlooked for F1 promotion is "tough" 1 year, 8 months ago
The FIA owe it to the F2 drivers this year to scrap the rule where the winner can’t return the following season. I’m not sure why more hasn’t been made of this by the true motorsport journalists.
F2 has been […]

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, Vips takes first F2 win in chaotic second Baku sprint race 1 year, 11 months ago
Thought Piastri would have a bit more pace than he showed. It was pretty dull once everyone got in the DRS train.

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, 10 years of DRS: Should F1 wean itself off push-button passes? 2 years, 1 month ago
People have short memories of the processional racing just prior to 2011. Now with increased downforce it would be even worse without DRS.
There were some easy passes made, but usually these have been cars on […]

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, Removal of turn nine chicane to cut F1 lap times by five seconds at Albert Park 2 years, 1 month ago
Don’t touch T11 and T12. Having sat across from the apex on entry to T11 I can say that this is one of the great corners in motorsport.
It would have been interesting if they made the section from T5 all the […]

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, New format but familiar problems in Formula 2's first triple-header weekend 2 years, 2 months ago
The biggest problem I have are the gaps between races. 2 months between races is absurd and really does nothing to keep me engaged.
I also feel for the rookies who will need to reacquaint themselves with the […]

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, McLaren's test could not have gone better so far – Ricciardo 2 years, 2 months ago
I wouldn’t say nothing. Once accounting for fuel load and tyres, if you look back at previous seasons it’s been quite representative.
Either way though, there is nothing bad about setting quick times.

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, F1 races to start on the hour again in 2021 2 years, 4 months ago
From a selfish standpoint living in Australia, pushing the European races from a 10pm start time to an 11pm start time on a Sunday night has basically rendered the sport inaccessible, so bringing it back an hour […]

Ricciardo had a perfect weekend.
Monstered the car on Saturday to put it about 4 places higher than it should have been and then drove a flawless race on Sunday. -

It seems when it comes to his involvement in the political side of the sport, Toto should take his advice to his own team about not believing in their own hype.

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, Ferrari, McLaren and Renault notify FIA they intend to appeal against Racing Point penalty 2 years, 9 months ago
I’m quite intrigued. If this goes to a proper court will Mercedes employees have to answer some tricky questions under oath about how IP was supplied to RP?
The headline for this is that RP have been penalised […]

So they copy a car, get a slap on the hand but are told they can continue to use the copied parts and can even keep any points and price money generated during the rest of the year. Weak.

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, Keeping tyres alive will be "exceptionally tricky" in Friday heat, says Ricciardo 2 years, 9 months ago
They are safer and less likely to catch and spread it in a controlled environment like F1 has put in place compared to if they were left to their own devices in their own homes and cities. Many countries won’t […]

Guybrush Threepwood commented on the post, Why Ocon said he never wants to repeat "horrible" Hungarian GP weekend 2 years, 10 months ago
I actually think Ricciardo and Ocon pitted at the right time to go onto slicks. If you look at the gap to other drivers it seemed they came out in front of others that had stopped the lap before – eg, Ricciardo […]
