My knee-jerk reaction to seeing Hamilton as #3 in Keith’s rankings the other day was “Utter nonsense! How could anyone believe Hamilton was not the best this year?!”. But after reading it through, and reading […]

That is not even close to apples-to-apples, but it is an interesting observation :-)

I want to see that line up at McLaren sooooooo badly!

Hallard commented on the post, Button, Alonso, Magnussen: Who should McLaren run? 8 years, 6 months ago
Yeah, I’ve been reading that too. That said, it’s pretty hard to imagine Ron Dennis allowing Honda to have authority over who drives for them. I mean… Ron Dennis.

Button and Magnussen.
Magnussen has shown flashes of brilliance and just needs to learn a bit more racecraft, but it’s clear he has the speed, as long as they’re willing to invest in him.
Button, on the […]

Hallard commented on the post, Lack of titles put Domenicali under pressure – Alonso 9 years, 1 month ago
I’m more than willing to cut Alonso some slack in that regard, and I think he still bagged some great results. He won his debut race, and even won at Monza in Ferrari’s back yard!
But the fact remains that the […]

Hallard commented on the post, Red Bull's own measurements showed Ricciardo's car was illegal – FIA 9 years, 1 month ago
Red Bull Racing’s arrogance and disregard for the sport in this case are utterly astonishing.
They spend weeks disparaging the FIA, the technical directives and the manufacturer of the fuel flow meter; over […]

If their own data shows that they were cheating, then I’m pretty sure it’s warranted to call them “cheaters”.

Hallard commented on the post, Lack of titles put Domenicali under pressure – Alonso 9 years, 1 month ago
I don’t agree with your assessment of their 2010 campaign. The F10 was absolutely a competitive car, it even won its debut race. What it lacked in downforce relative to the RB6, it more than made up for in […]

Hallard commented on the post, Lack of titles put Domenicali under pressure – Alonso 9 years, 1 month ago
Could not agree more. Alonso was the weak link at Ferrari in 2010. The F10 may not have been the fastest car that year but it was one of the most reliable, and almost always competitive at the very least. When […]

Hallard commented on the post, How much slower were the 2014 cars in Australia? 9 years, 2 months ago
I really like the new formula. More power (or at least a broader powerband) and less downforce was always going to be a good thing.
That being said, I still want the cars to be faster. F1 cars were at their […]

Hallard commented on the post, McLaren's year of transition before Honda reunion 9 years, 3 months ago
Here is an interesting thought… what if Honda is looking to become McLaren’s title sponsor as well as their engine supplier (a la Infiniti – Red Bull Racing)?
They obviously would have to wait until next year […]

Hallard commented on the post, Vettel attacks Pirelli over safety of tyres 10 years ago
Is Vettel flat-out accusing Pirelli of lying about the cause of those tire de-laminations, or am I reading this wrong?
I dont blame him for having some suspicions about those incidents, but I can’t imagine […]

Hallard commented on the post, Solving MP4-28 problems key to 2014 – McLaren 10 years ago
Am I the only person reading this as a tacit admission that McLaren is using the MP4-28 as a test bed for some concepts which will become crucial with the 2014 -> regulations?
On one hand that would make their […]

Hallard commented on the post, Button's complaint shows we need more team radio 10 years ago
I may be in the minority here, but I certainly don’t think the broadcast of Webber vomitting in his helmet and continuing to drive at the limit could be considered embarrassing. If anything, I think that moment […]

Hallard commented on the post, New car and new races for GP3's fourth season 10 years ago
Totally agree that F1 cars should be getting faster… but I think you’ll find that F1 cars are much, much quicker than Indycars in any trim.
F1 cars have ~750bhp (without KERS) in a 642kg chassis (incl […]

Hallard commented on the post, DRS and tyres: Has F1 got the balance right? 10 years, 1 month ago
I would like to see the fragile tires and DRS gone, because they are band-aid measures that bring the credibility of F1 as a sport into question.
The problem is that F1 has gotten to a point where these items […]

I thought Sam Michael was McLaren’s sporting director, and Tim Goss was their technical director (albeit “interim”), no?
