@ivz Is the safety car, a Mercedes AMG GT-R? It posted a time of 7:10 at the Nurburgring so it’s pretty fast compared to even cars like Paganis, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Koenigseggs and the rest.
Of course […]

@ivz Martin Brundle mentioned during the Sky broadcast that they can’t have the SC on slicks because it has to be ready to go out as soon as its needed & obviously if its on slicks it won’t be ready to go out […]

@ivz I’m not sure how practical that would be. Creating a faster replacement for the Safety Car would likely mean a lot of additional expense (e.g. running something like an F2 car) and it would probably mean more […]

@ivz Part of the story of the grooved tires is that after their introduction, which was an effort to slow cornering speeds, teams started to pile on the aero R&D to make up for the tires. F1 has been addicted to […]
@ivz The biggest concern with ground effect I believe is the shear cornering speeds achievable combined with the measures teams were going to in the 80’s to beat their rivals. Fixed springs, the entire car planted […]
@ivz Why we need complicated and expensive solution? The rules clearly stated the driver should within the track limit and because they never really enforced it, now it’s expected for the drivers to run wide? If […]

@ivz Mario Illien was co-founder of Ilmor who created the rapid Mercedes engines that McLaren used with great success in the late nineties. Ilmor were a pretty big deal back then.

Good question @ivz. It would indeed be quite an upset if Red Bull were to develop a better Renault based engine than the manufacturer itself!
However, it seems that Illien himself is not in the loop and denies […]

@ivz Haha, love this comment.

Ferrari were actually splitting the turbo and the compressor last year, their solution wasn’t as aggressive and efficient as the Mercedes solution but it only needed some adjustments to make it work, Renault […]
@ivz The problem is Audi and Porsche are part of VW, and VW won’t do business with a certain Mr. Ecclestone as he is completely unethical, at least from a German point of view. Renault’s performance is shocking […]
@ivz I don’t care if it is 100 or 1000kg. The main reason why there’s a flow limit is to avoid dull races. If there was no flow limit, the pole man would start the race dramatically under fuelled, using the fact […]
