CarWars commented on the post, Rate the race: 2021 British Grand Prix Sprint Qualifying 4 months, 2 weeks ago
@jackysteeg that would make sense. Leaves fp3 for some further setup work and the usual quali practice. Qualifying aint broken, so dont fix it. This sprint qualifying gives people a chance to fix their bad […]

@jackysteeg Well spotted! Ferrari’s season has been even more dismal than I thought…. :(
DB-C90 commented on the post, F1 confirms record 23-race calendar for 2021 but no race in Vietnam 1 year ago
@jackysteeg I guess we expected this to happen ever since Liberty took over and started talking about having up to 25 races or more.
I’m like you, this year is the first year in over 30 years that I’ve not wat […]
Jere commented on the post, F2 and F3 to hold separate championships at fewer venues in 2021 1 year ago
@jackysteeg The second race is already a reverse-grid one, albeit only for the top eight rather than the entire field.

Keith Campbell commented on the post, Vettel: Ferrari's 2020 car is a "step forward" in some respects 1 year, 2 months ago
@jackysteeg Honestly, I think single lap qualifying is more artificial than reverse grid races, because the drivers are competing against each other in different track conditions, sometimes dramatically so. If it […]
Robbie commented on the post, Verstappen stuns Mercedes with Silverstone victory 1 year, 3 months ago
@jackysteeg Well said and agreed. I think it is likely a combination of the things you speak of. He’s exceptional. He’s engrained on the team. He’s more experienced than Albon and Gasly. And I think rarely is a […]
Jere commented on the post, Nurburgring to join 2020 F1 calendar with Portimao and Imola 1 year, 4 months ago
@jackysteeg More likely only in Bahrain. I don’t expect two races in Abu Dhabi, nor has that been a serious consideration before. Two Bahrain-races if 15 isn’t achievable with one for each.
Todfod commented on the post, Official: Alonso to return to Formula 1 with Renault next year 1 year, 4 months ago
But I suppose as fans we’d all gotten excited about Schumacher coming out of retirement, or McLaren’s romantic Honda reunion, or Kubica’s long-awaited comeback. By now we’re just precond […]
yeah I’m with you on this one @jackysteeg. Marginally Hamilton’s fault, if at all.
I think Albon is an excellent driver, a fresh and open personality with no edge, and one of several who are bringing a lot of […]
Mashiat commented on the post, Leclerc drove "one of my best races" for second place 1 year, 4 months ago
@jackysteeg If you remove Mercedes from the picture, 2020 has a lot of similarities with 2012. Red Bull has become the McLaren, fastest car but poor reliability, Ferrari is Ferrari, Racing Point is Red Bull, […]
Jere commented on the post, Official: F1 cancels races at Suzuka, Baku and Singapore 1 year, 5 months ago
@jackysteeg No realistic chance for fans attending races within this year, yes, but I’m more optimistic about next year in this regard.
Fer no.65 commented on the post, Ferrari tipped to sign Sainz, Ricciardo expected to join McLaren 1 year, 6 months ago
@jackysteeg I like Sainz, but I agree… in a way it reminds me of Sergio Perez being such a hot prospect after a terrific 2012 season, and we know how that ended at McLaren the following year.
I guess Ferrari […]
bosyber commented on the post, "What a mess": Leclerc on pole after farcical end to qualifying 2 years, 2 months ago
@jackysteeg – yeah, that or a ridiculous mess as they are all forced to the back or something, with GIO inheriting RAI’s pole (who ran in Q3, not in that last minutes stuff, but probably needs an new gearbox at […]
F1oSaurus commented on the post, Pagenaud on pole as Alonso fails to qualify for Indy 500 2 years, 6 months ago
@jackysteeg The reason is that nobody cares and that it’s really only common for IndyCar drivers to go up to F1 and then Le Mans and not the other way around. It’s just a weird careerpath going down.
@HoHum commented on the post, Pagenaud on pole as Alonso fails to qualify for Indy 500 2 years, 6 months ago
@jackysteeg “AhOOgah, warning, warning, Rose tinted spectacles ahead” Yet back in the golden, golden era (60’s) a couple of F1 teams did just that.
@jackysteeg I presume there’s still no feature allowing other drivers to switch teams in career mode (licensing reasons I guess?)
I’m sure they’d be shouting that from the rooftops if it was allowed, I can’t s […]
