Remarkably for the FIA these sound like sensible changes, though of course the proof will be in the implementation. Having Freitas on board is a huge win in my book.

No, the halo doesn’t make drivers invulnerable. Does that mean we shouldn’t make any safety improvements unless they’re guaranteed to eliminate all risk factors?
I seem to recall at least a couple of occasions […]

What is a “pure estimation” as opposed to a standard “estimation”?
James Muscat commented on the post, F1's new tyre wear television graphic is "misleading", says Pirelli 3 years, 5 months ago
It’s not just Crofty – the graphics themselves present information as solid fact rather than estimates (as someone else said, “pit window open” even implies that there’s a mandatory window of time in which teams […]

The new tyre graphic is “misleading”? Let me prepare my International Surprised Face…

The primary benefit, of course, would be no longer having a race at Sochi…
James Muscat commented on the post, Silverstone plans another resurfacing before British GP 4 years, 2 months ago
I think I said this at the time (I went to the first race meeting after the resurfacing, while there were still piles of unused tarmac around the site) – but while they’re at it perhaps they could consider […]

@spoutnik They have current F3, but that stops being a thing at the end of this season and the Pirelli-shod GP3 gets renamed in its place. I’d imagine the tyre status-quo will remain for next year.
James Muscat commented on the post, Silverstone may need another new surface to fix F1's "micro-bumps" problem 4 years, 8 months ago
They ought to try racing somewhere like Sebring if they think that Silverstone is too bumpy!
James Muscat commented on the post, FIA to examine Ferrari's "perplexing" pit stop error which injured a mechanic 4 years, 11 months ago
There’s something to be said for the rules in many other series limiting the number of people allowed to work on a car in the pits.

they weren’t telling him to push until he reaches that mark, and then to hold the gap
There’s a quote from Toto Wolff in the article that directly contradicts this statement:

“Actual real team radio without editing” wouldn’t work (very well). You’d have twenty conversations happening simultaneously with no way of filtering them out. I imagine it will be the audio feed they currently […]
James Muscat commented on the post, F1 TV to launch in 40 countries but VPN access will be blocked 5 years ago
The IT-savvy people won’t even need to work as hard. All FOM and partners can do is block IP addresses from known VPN providers. Any computer on the Internet with an appropriately geo-located IP address (e.g. in […]
James Muscat commented on the post, Was Vettel's 'dangerous driving' penalty correct? 5 years, 9 months ago
Hamilton didn’t brake, or even lift more. And it’s very hard to believe that, subsequent to the first impact, Vettel “accidentally” pulled alongside Hamilton (how does one do that accidentally?) and then side-swiped him.
James Muscat commented on the post, Rosberg had "no chance of a surprise attack" 7 years, 9 months ago
So, Nico wasn’t able to attack Lewis because every time Nico went faster, Lewis went faster as well? That’s kind of how defending your lead is supposed to work… Same team or not, when the guy behind you starts […]

James Muscat commented on the post, Team radio ban to cut driver assistance 8 years, 6 months ago
The team radio ban is an interesting one, because we don’t actually know how much of the sort of thing that people are getting upset about actually happens.
We already know that FOM are selective with what […]

WEC broadcasts radio from the race director. I’d love to hear something similar for F1.

That’s a link to the Ubuntu version of F1LT. Google is your friend – I’m hesitant to post links since FOM have been getting more aggressive with copyright-infringement takedowns.
