Talented and fast? Yes. Likeable? Not for me. Hard to approve of someone who always pushes the edge of what’s acceptable and then act surprised and indignant and lashes out at the powers that be for standing firm.

When F1 fans take pot-shots at Indy Car drivers as less talented and the series as boring or less important than F1, I look at the shots of that crowd and go “HRMMMMMMM…”
Joey-Poey commented on the post, The Alonso effect: What F1 fans said about his Indy 500 adventure 5 years, 2 months ago
Your criticisms have some incredible short-sightedness and is ill-informed.
Though you are right to say a big part of the final part of the race is getting to it, not every car on the lead lap in the final laps […]
Joey-Poey commented on the post, Verstappen: "Frustrated" Vettel should "go back to school" 5 years, 9 months ago
The reason I continue to find it hard to respect Verstappen’s talent is because he never shows any sense of sportsmanship.

The “we should be grateful to Bernie” stuff that Martin was spouting make me wonder how many people under him subscribe to that line (whether out of fear or whether it’s genuine). While he has done a lot to grow […]

I would like to see F1 use IndyCar’s method: reactionary moves are not allowed. Max’s move was just plain dangerous. You pick your line and go with it. Not wait to see what the other person does and go for a block.
What’s interesting is many have criticized Rosberg for not being ruthless enough compared to Hamilton. And when he finally gets that ruthless streak here, he does so in a somewhat clumsy way. I have to side with […]
I think it was simply a poor choice of words on Keith’s part. It wasn’t anti-climactic because it was tense all the way to the last 2 laps. I was anxious to see who could do that last feat to snatch the […]
I find it curious that Road America gets a lot of love while having a whole slew of 90 degree turns. And Baku gets slammed for the same quality. Road Am puts on good racing, don’t get me wrong. But whenever I […]
I, too, was upset by that call. How they go from saying “we’re going to give no warnings” at Long Beach to suddenly giving all the cars who broke the rule a warning to suddently deciding hard fair racing is […]
Joey-Poey commented on the post, Ecclestone wants six USA races on 25-race F1 calendar 6 years, 3 months ago
If F1 went to Road America, they’d have to either run the chicane version of The Kink or they’d be forced to cut down all the trees and add a parking lot runoff to the outside. If those two, id be praying. They […]
Have to admit I was a little miffed at first, not realizing the connection. Considering there’s world championships in sim racing like iRacing handing out 10k in prize money, I kinda figured that if this feature […]
Joey-Poey commented on the post, Why aggregate qualifying was dropped the last time 6 years, 4 months ago
Indianapolis’ 4 laps are averaged, not added together. Just a side note.
Joey-Poey commented on the post, Should F1 try the proposed new aggregate qualifying format? 6 years, 4 months ago
Should they use this new format? Let me give it the longest, hardest think that’s worthy of.
*half a second passes*
I also get the feeling this is a power move by them not wanting to be pushed around by the teams. Considering they haven’t previously been able to suss out what the fans want (see: recent comments dismissing […]
This. So very this.
That’s not the kind of F1 I want to see. Faster in the corners and slower on the straights means fewer passing opportunities. Add in the increased aero wash and you’ve got a procession, not a race. Every time I […]
Joey-Poey commented on the post, Wolff doubts elimination qualifying will deliver in Bahrain 6 years, 4 months ago
“We need to make intelligent decisions.” Y’know, like using the format that worked for years that F1 already has software for and that the fans weren’t complaining about originally? That might be an intelligent idea.
