Anti-American hate? Adding a second US race is an odd way to show you despise the most important advertising market for the sport…

A third US race is a good idea, but it needs to be at Indy. It’s already a grade 1 circuit, and more importantly there’s a already a massive fan base for the sport within an easy drive to the track.

Probably a good reminder for everyone that most professional racing drivers don’t have degrees in science and you shouldn’t ever take medical advice from them
Jonathan commented on the post, As regulation trumps innovation again, will F1 ever produce another breakthrough? 1 year, 2 months ago
I love the McLaren F1 more than most (and have written articles to that end a few times) but I don’t think anyone still uses it as the supercar benchmark. 1994 was as long ago in terms of road cars as it is for F […]

Last time Formula E raced at Monaco, there was overtaking *into Tabac*

Good thing F1 awards points for qualifying position and not where you finish the race, then.

No, he’s bang on the money. 2030 is the key date in Europe for ending sales of new internal combustion engine-powered vehicles. ICE has a bit more life left in it in the US, where it will be held dear by the same […]

The ownership info for Red Bull is incorrect. I believe Mateschitz only owns 49%, the remaining 51 is held by Yoovidhya and his son.
Jonathan commented on the post, Why F1 could give the internal combustion engine a stay of execution 2 years, 1 month ago
Right, because LMP1 and endurance racing is where technology transfer from racing to road cars happens, not F1.
Also, Audi never raced with an MGU-H so their motorsports experiment with it didn’t go […]

And F1’s carbon footprint comes from running server farms and wind tunnels, and millions of fans flying and driving to all 21 races, not from >150 hours of running 22 cars at 2-4mpg.

There’s several things in here that are just flat-out wrong, or blatant misrepresentation.
If Audi is already producing electric turbochargers powered by recovered heat, and developed them without spending […]

Exactly. And many of those jobs are perceived as less glamorous so they’re better paying as a result.

I wonder how much of that is just scaremongering over budget caps. Talented engineers and aerodynamicists can already earn more working in less sexy fields than F1, that’s nothing new. It’s a high profile spo […]

Also the occasional typo slips through, @ho3n3r. This morning I managed to publish an article where I somehow spelled McLaren as McLaurin in one instance. No idea how that happened.

Also, there is very little credible tech transfer from F1 to road cars these days—not that there ever was much. That happens in endurance racing. Just look at the tech Audi brought to the road from its Le Mans p […]

As Phylyp points out, this is not aimed at existing F1 fans. People need to realize that motorsport desperately needs to attract new fans. This is doubly true of F1 now that it’s moved away from free-to-air TV […]
