Verstappen seems every bit as unfazed by the pressure as the Iceman, Kimi Raikkonen. Hamilton’s made a few comments recently trying to turn the pressure up on Max (which I’ve no problem with, for the record – all […]
Agreed – the opening of the section about Lance even references these old assumptions.
I don’t think Lance should be rated any lower than Bottas, who is taking an even greater hammering from his teammate this […]

It wasn’t good at all was it?
Other than lap 1 (which is always action packed) and Perez spinning, nothing of any consequence happened.
Understand COTD’s concerns about drivers being signed too young, but I think it’s quite a different scenario to football – a lot of these young drivers wouldn’t have the means to keep competing without backing.
Sainz basically confirmed it by saying ‘it was very minor’ so I wouldn’t exactly call this a rumour.
Late to the party with this one – I see a lot of people commenting that Leclerc’s mistakes mean he shouldn’t be as high as third. I disagree – I think the mistakes mean he can’t be ranked as high as first.
Max had as many wins and second places as Valterri last season while having four more retirements.
It’s not exactly a stretch to think that if the field closes up, Bottas could cost Mercedes the constructor’s championship.
As I’ve stated on other rankings, I think this is very generous to Bottas, and this article even backs that up in a way – there isn’t a lot positive you can say about his season.
Finishing first or second in […]
Bottas’ two wins obviously catch the eye a bit, but these both wins were in races his teammate got penalties – otherwise he spent pretty much the entire season being comfortably outperformed by Hamilton (and V […]
I can’t understand why people are using that SC crash as evidence Russell isn’t ready for the Mercedes seat – was Hamilton crashing in the pit lane in 2008 evidence he got the McLaren seat too soon? His WDC sug […]
I don’t think he’s set a high standard against Lewis at all – the only two races he won this year were ones where Lewis had penalties, and the only reason he beat Max in the championship was due to the Red Bull […]
Don’t think the points about respective experience levels really hold up – Bottas was an F1 driver for 4 seasons before moving to Mercedes, he wasn’t exactly a rookie. And as for experience as a Mercedes driver, […]
Like others, I’m wondering how exactly Valterri Bottas has been ranked so highly.
Can someone tell me how exactly he’s been more impressive than Norris, or Raikkonen for example? The only reason I can think of […]
Completely agree with this – seems like the car the driver drove (something completely out of their hands) plays a part in their ranking.
Bottas was abysmal this year, absolutely no way does he belong in the top 10.
I think Ricciardo pretty much conclusively ended any chance of Ocon making to a top drive last season, and if Fernando has a similar advantage next year, which is quite likely, Esteban will quite likely be out of […]
Agreed – I wouldn’t have Stroll ranked much higher than this but he stacked up much better to his teammate than the other two and had more high points.
Kvyat’s been nothing but a seat warmer since 2017, while […]
I think this is slightly harsh on Giovinazzi to be honest.
He stacked up reasonably well to a former WDC (who admittedly, is past his prime, and probably well past it), and clearly made some progress from last […]
