I’m in my mid-20’s but can’t look back further than ’99 without using YouTube. In any case without doubt one to add to the pantheon will be the last corner of Brazil ’08.

He isn’t related to F1 in any way I think he just makes an awesome avatar, though funnily enough the one place I most use that has an avatar is Steam and on there I’ve still got the Hyperchicken from Futurama.

28th September 2011, 1:48 at 1:48 am #179386LachieParticipantThis makes sense with what Toro Rosso is ostensibly supposed to represent, however I believe the feeling is that Red Bull wants to part with Toro Rosso at its earliest convenience… I’m not sure if this fits in with the seeming lack of interest in dumping both Buemi and Alguersuari. I think you’re completely right in that they don’t appear to be anything special and its time for the next lot of Red Bull youngsters.
I’m sure people will point out Buemi lead in Canada and Alguersuari has had some good runs, if that’s enough then they should have no problem slotting into another team or they should move up to the main team if they’re considered good enough. If they aren’t good enough to do either of those things then they shouldn’t be treading water at Toro Rosso when Ricciardo and Vergne are waiting in the wings.
27th September 2011, 2:03 at 2:03 am #179127LachieParticipantI think but for a slip up in Korea, Webber would have been champion and with it would have accrued a base level of respect. Its the same thing with Massa, there’s comments out there about whether he was actually ever any good or just got lucky with circumstances in 2008. I can’t expect those same comments would be around had he won.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuC88NIpEW8
Its not a direct route down St Andrews road to it but it seems to me that if the road is capable enough then they should just curve the barriers to guide into it for the purposes of someone with a stuck throttle or brake issues. The same thing people were suggesting for the harbour chicane at Monaco.
21st September 2011, 10:24 at 10:24 am #178608LachieParticipantWhat exactly does this mean?
6) Your fastest lap should be recorded from the driver’s POV.
If it means we need to play it in the cockpit view then forget it. Otherwise aren’t we just sending screenshots not videos?
7th August 2011, 7:58 at 7:58 am #176027LachieParticipantConsidering that the only thing I currently get for free is the race (and interrupted by commercials and on a delayed telecast at that), I would happily pay £61 for Sky’s coverage.
PM, £61 is AU$95. So if you can afford that per race you may as well head down to JB Hi-Fi and pick up a set-top box for a once off payment of AU$59 (and i’m sure you could find one somewhere even cheaper). Then you’ll get qualy and the race, both live.
Please stop trying to convince people that Australia is some F1 backwater of coverage when it’s clearly your own circumstances that are affecting your viewing of the sport.

I’m not sure about drivers, but I haven’t seen the stop-go penalty for ages in a race. The only time I ever see one is on F1 2009 Wii game!
We finally saw one at Silverstone as the pit lane was considered too short to make a drive thru a real penalty. The point still stands though, what was the reasoning behind its disappearance save for an exceptionally short pitlane?
28th July 2011, 8:02 at 8:02 am #175223LachieParticipantI, for one, cannot wait to see how Mr Loowitzi does down under.
Oh man, I could punch Beattie every time he says Loowitzi. I don’t even care about Liuzzi but I just want to smash Beattie’s pudgy face every time. It’s like he does it deliberately, I mean the guys been racing for a few years now so it’s not like Beattie hasn’t been subjected to the right pronunciation time and time and time again…
LEE-OOT-SEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
27th July 2011, 16:44 at 4:44 pm #175348LachieParticipantI think it’s a shame that up until 2016 there just aren’t going to be enough championships to go around. Someone’s gonna miss out be it Webber not getting one at all even though he’s got the car, Hamilton not getting more than say 2 in his career and same maybe for Button given McLaren’s performance in years to come, Alonso maybe restricted to 3 and Vettel maybe taking the lot (shudder).
I get a real 1983-1993 feel for the rest of the decade as we have a bunch of great drivers who will hopefully all get what they deserve and give us a hell of an era of F1.
27th July 2011, 11:42 at 11:42 am #175332LachieParticipantWhich ones Worker and which ones Parasite?
20th July 2011, 2:24 at 2:24 am #174450LachieParticipantCurrent Nurburgring but only because afterwards I’d drive around the old Nurburgring.
Would you rather see new countries in F1 with a chance either way of the circuits being boring or interesting, or the return of dropped countries such as Austria, France, San Marino and The Netherlands?
18th July 2011, 6:55 at 6:55 am #174634LachieParticipantI felt sympathetic for Vettel as he was in line for a podium and the slightest of mistakes in the rain denied him that. So I agree with iamsa8.
Webber may have had his first win that day under the worst possible conditions. I have to agree with AlonsoWDC
18th July 2011, 6:37 at 6:37 am #174738LachieParticipantAre the cars still ‘thinner’ like when they changed in 1998 or are they back to more the 1994-1997 sort of width? In any case the more they get to the width of the 1994-1997 cars the better. Also make the rear wheels noticeably larger than the fronts.
