Lustigson commented on the post, Who was the greatest F1 driver of all time? 2 years, 2 months ago
Mark Hughes recently had a great article on this age-old question, with a bit of a different view, namely: which great driver usurped which previous great?
On Twitter, he added:
Fangio to Moss. No-one […]

Lustigson commented on the post, Grosjean insists he slowed down for yellow flags and posts data to prove it 5 years, 1 month ago
Slowing down 45 kph apparently is insufficient according to the FIA… and rightfully so, since double yellows imply that drivers must slow down and be prepared to stop.

Or Barcelona, for that matter. Horrible track for racing.
Lustigson commented on the post, New Monza over a second faster for F1 – and Parabolica gravel will return 5 years, 11 months ago
Two things:
1) These changes effectively limit the number of genuine (i.e. non-DRS) overtaking spots to one half namely at Parabolica. However, it’s quite hard to overtake there, because the entry is pretty […]
Lustigson commented on the post, Could Verstappen hit an unprecedented century of F1 wins? 5 years, 12 months ago
Much depends on the competitiveness of his cars over the coming years as well as the number of races per season.
Lustigson commented on the post, Which qualifying system should F1 use? 6 years, 2 months ago
Interesting to note about this whole fiasco, is that it shows exactly what happens when you try to fix something that isn’t broken: it breaks.
However, I would find it unwise if the F1 folks opt for a different […]
Lustigson commented on the post, Mateschitz insists Red Bull's Renault deal is over and slams rivals 6 years, 6 months ago
The last few weeks I was coming under the impression that Red Bull was backing down just a tad, in order to have an engine supplier at all… but this makes me wonder whether we’re actually going to see Red Bull pull-out.
Lustigson commented on the post, Should Ferrari keep Raikkonen for 2016? 6 years, 10 months ago
As much as I’d like to see Hülkenberg in a top car, I doubt it will be a Ferrari as long as Vettel is there. Why? Because I find it very hard to believe that Ferrari will have two drivers of the same […]
Lustigson commented on the post, Is the FIA superlicence points system a step forward? 7 years, 4 months ago
Your right about the race winners. My bad.
My point should have been that the only F2 champion since the 1960s who has also won the WDC, is Hamilton.
Lustigson commented on the post, Is the FIA superlicence points system a step forward? 7 years, 4 months ago
Which problem does this solution actually fix?
I don’t see what the new system ads to what the rules already said, which was something like this: a new driver must have either won races on F2 level — e.g. GP2, […]
Lustigson commented on the post, Videos reveal planned changes to Mexico's F1 track 7 years, 10 months ago
Exactly.
The only way the track will ever include the original Peraltada again, is if they remove the public road behind it, or if they destroy the stadium, and move the entire Peraltada corner back by some 50 […]
Lustigson commented on the post, How Hamilton could win 13 races but lose the title 7 years, 10 months ago
Although I root for Rosberg to win the title, it would be an utter disgrace if he took it off of Hamilton because of the double points rule.
I do take comfort, tough, in the fact that over the past 20 (!) […]

My first Formula One memory is of race 499. I can’t believe that I’ve seen — certainly most, if not all of — the 500 races that followed.
Lustigson commented on the post, Shorter races to be considered as noise fix 8 years, 1 month ago
Perhaps I already posted something similar some time ago: I think that races shouldn’t be shorter, but they should be longer. With laptimes having gone down over the years, the races have become shorter. Monza in […]

‘Shorter races to be considered as noise fix’? Is it that bad? That no noise is better than low noise? :-D

Great work on the paint job, indeed. You really can’t see the ugly finger/nose/penis at all.
Lustigson commented on the post, Satellite image shows Russian GP track taking shape 8 years, 3 months ago
Interesting. I could’t make any sense of some of the corners… but then I realised that the track is clockwise.
Up until a few minutes ago I was under the impression that it would be counter-clockwise. Which […]
Lustigson commented on the post, Why Vettel's rivals may be disappointed in 2014 8 years, 7 months ago
Interesting list, Keith, thumbs up.
However, I think that only 1989, of the more recent examples, stacks up to the 2014 overhaul.
For 1995, only engine capacity was changed, form 3.5 to 3.0 litres. Engine […]
