The problem is that by creating a high degradation tyre (by making it softer) it’s just more susceptible to be damaged by debris, kerbs, or slightly lower pressures.
For example I bet that if you grab a sharp […]

I just can’t help but think that if Charlie Whiting was still here we wouldn’t have this debacle, it would’ve been sorted before the season start.

Speaking of Reutemann I think he was hospitalized recently, hopefully he makes a full recovery soon.
Since pit to car telemetry is forbidden they rely on radio and the boards on the straight to know what the other drivers are doing and their gaps.

Exactly, I don’t like that ALL teams leave the floor and barge board areas unpainted.
I know they don’t want to make it easy to see the aero shapes, but it means that basically the lower half of all cars looks identical.
Interesting, so it seems that the halo was indeed a problem when trying to jump out of the car, he would’ve been out in 10 seconds otherwise.
I wonder if something can be done to mitigate that issue in the future.
Exactly, this is also why Stroll’s crash cut out just before we see him go upside down.
The cars do have that 360° camera on the front which records locally, I wonder if they’ll be able to recover […]
The most obvious reason to me it seems to have all cars cover the same distance.
Imagine if a car gets that free lap because it was lapped, but then later (In a crazy race) on goes on to win.
You could […]

Come on, this is hardly an attack on Jos. He’s merely pointing the facts about the main figure Max has had during his upbringing.
People say that everyone is his own man, but that’s not true at all. We’re in […]

Hello there, I just wanted to share these videos that I found the other day.
They feature a vlogger from Mexico who got some pretty serious behind the scenes access to FOM’s broadcasting centre at the Japanese GP, as well as a quick chat with the onboard camera guys where they explained in great detail how the cameras work (this one’s pretty…[Read more]

This is great news!
But I really hope the video quality on live and vintage races is at least up to the same standard as the regular TV broadcast 1080p50, otherwise people might not completely ditch their cable […]

So @keithcollantine have you been approached by Motorsport yet??
What would you say if they came with a big offer?
On one side I don’t like that everything is centralised and the risk of loosing the truly […]

@gt-racer thanks for the inside info!
For the longest of times I was completely convinced that it was an error on the timing system or something like that, but now I now it was just a once in a lifetime […]

I think lower angles do help to give a sense of speed but only in specific circumstances like when the car is changing direction in Silverstone, since you can see more clearly the body roll and how the car […]
I think one of the main reasons why it’s a bigger problem in F1 is that the airflow around the bodywork is much more finely tuned than in other cars.
Just compare the complexity of an F1 front wing to an […]

What it makes me think is actually how little we know about the operations in Japan. We know Honda build the engines there, but that’s about it. What actually takes place?
I may be wrong but didn’t a J […]
