@matthijs I considered that as well. But then they shouldn’t have tried at all. Much better Perez than Verstappen getting it… And he set the time on first try (if I remember correctly).

@matthijs I don’t envision it that way, and of course we will hear more later, but no I don’t see why they would find it desirable to run Monaco wings on Monza high speed corners. I think they would still want to […]
@matthijs Good point and reference.
@matthijs Following is generally easier through slower corners than faster ones, albeit not a clear-cut rule.

@matthijs I was very surprised, relieved and excited to see Alonso performing so well. I had great fears that F1 had moved on without him, like it seemed to have done when Schumi returned.

As with @matthijs said, a car can be fast when driven to the maximum. However, if the car does not suit the characteristics to the driver handling it, it makes it difficult and tricky to contain. The Racing Point […]

I think the track being rubbered in alone would do the job on that @matthijs. But I agree that it will have been done on purpose for making Alonso feel good and a signal to the bosses (whoever is going to appoint […]

I think your view on Bottas is very fair as well as the comparison to Russell this race. Although Russell’s results have often been good over his career, we can’t really ignore that on average, he’s […]

Well said @matthijs. He got shown up more by what Russel showed we / the team could get from their driver than by doing something extra stupid or bad.

@matthijs “miraculously”? You mean science right? ;)

Indeed @matthijs, have to say that’s a good feeling to have. Yes, failure modes, and things to learn and improve, but in this case at least no unfixable consequences.
I agree @matthijs

Mhm, interesting, @matthijs. I’m trying to think of someone extremely successful who didn’t shine right from the beginning but no-one springs to mind.

@matthijs, I think the contact with Perez on lap 1 “disturbed” Max’s initial pace. IMO it was just not the car or the tyres, the contact and all that comes with it (such as a loss of speed and getting “out of […]
@matthijs Quite so. Imagine if this was regular F1. Then all you’d actually need to do was to remove the rubbish tracks, fix the stewarding and it would be great.
