Matt Jones commented on the post, Herta expects IndyCar to change "really dangerous" Nashville restart zone again 1 week, 2 days ago
I find the whole circuit a bit of a mess to be honest. It doesn’t do anything for good racing. The single file turn back section 14-18 is totally mickey mouse, and the bridge absolutely terrifies me. The thought […]
Matt Jones commented on the post, Hamilton wearing Covid mask again as 'a lot of people around me are getting sick' 1 month, 1 week ago
Seems like a sensible precaution to take. In the UK covid is rife again. I know more people with it now than at anytime in the past two years. I’ve just had it myself for the first time and after 4 weeks I’m still […]
Matt Jones commented on the post, Ericsson repels last-lap attack from O'Ward to win Indianapolis 500 2 months, 2 weeks ago
This race was why I love the 500. There’s so many phases to the race. It’s constantly fascinating to see drivers drift in and out of contention. If you watched the first 50 laps or so it looked so comfortable for […]

Herta will be in that car next year if he has the super license points.

I’ve been watching racing in various series for 35 years and that lap 4 save by Herta was one of the best I’ve ever seen. His instinctive car control was astonishing.
Matt Jones commented on the post, Monaco Grand Prix promoter insists race will stay on F1 calendar 4 months ago
With all this talk of Monaco, Spa, Ricard, maybe Silverstone losing races, F1 needs to be careful it doesn’t lose enough “classic” circuits to allow a rival series to be formed.
Matt Jones commented on the post, Should F1 and its teams lift the cap of 24 grands prix in a season? 4 months, 2 weeks ago
18 is enough for me. I’m already picking and choosing what races to watch and I’ve still got some from last season recorded that I never watched. As the number of races has increased it’s gone from must watch to […]

This is going to be genuinely spectacular. 212mph down the strip is going to be astonishing.
Asking for anyone that’s been to Vegas: Is there any spray from the fountains at the Bellagio?

They said they didn’t have time to apply the proper livery to the real car that’s why we got the showcar. The showcar was a sort of a satin matte finish this one is just regular glossy paint.
Matt Jones commented on the post, Why Williams have stopped carrying a tribute to Ayrton Senna on their F1 car 6 months ago
They’ve just got this wrong. A real misstep from the team.

I didn’t see the live reveal but I’m wondering why that background image shows the car in a different livery? Any idea?
Matt Jones commented on the post, Hulkenberg to make IndyCar test debut in "one-off" run for McLaren SP 10 months ago
It’s a shame that Jenson Button’s drive for them this season didn’t happen. That could have been another level of attention for them and the whole of IndyCar.
Matt Jones commented on the post, Hulkenberg to make IndyCar test debut in "one-off" run for McLaren SP 10 months ago
Indycar really does seem to be an attractive place for drivers now. It seems to be building every year. It’s a great series with fantastic racing and offers everyone a chance to win.
Matt Jones commented on the post, F1's new 'Halo 4' for 2022 draws on lessons from Grosjean's crash and more 11 months ago
I agree. I think if we see a debris strike like Massa’s there’ll be some serious questions to answer, and possibly litigation, as to why a race proven safety feature wasn’t being used.
Matt Jones commented on the post, "Not ideal" running Russell's helmet camera during race, admit Williams 11 months, 1 week ago
He thought it made changing direction faster. The idea being that the extra weight made it harder to stop when you turn it one way and then want to quickly flick it back the opposite direction.
Matt Jones commented on the post, "Not ideal" running Russell's helmet camera during race, admit Williams 11 months, 1 week ago
Pat Symonds insisted on the dash mounted display when he was at Williams. He believes having it in the wheel makes the wheel heavier and therefore slower to turn due to inertia. Surely there can be barely any […]

There’s an excellent 4 part documentary on YouTube called The Indycar Split by nascarman history.
If you’re interested in the split and the personalities behind it you won’t go wrong spending an hour or so watching it.
