BasCB commented on the post, New pictures reveal progress on Saudi Arabia's Jeddah F1 circuit 1 day, 11 hours ago
Oh, yeah, I am already looking forward to ignoring this one! @proesterchen, I agree with you that so far it does not at all look like a great or interesting track to watch, and on top there are the issues with […]
Yeah, makes sense that increasing the travel (and probably manufacturing as well) will make it harder to make up the pollution “bill”
BasCB commented on the post, F1 addressing concerns over COTA's bumps and Losail's pit lane entrance 2 days, 8 hours ago
I guess it is not a big surprise, since the track was built on rather damp lands, a bit like the China track etc @peartree. Looks like it will be a bit like chasing moles in the garden – you zap one place, they […]
BasCB commented on the post, The rubber revolution F1's grand plan for better races is riding on 3 days, 7 hours ago
Well, I certainly hope they have nailed the development of the tyres and we won’t see any blowups etc nor get too many inconsistent tyre behaviour with the new cars.
BasCB commented on the post, "Critical" work on 2022 Ferrari will keep Binotto away from more races 3 days, 7 hours ago
Yeah, and it seems from the results so far this year, that it was time well spent @jerejj.
Solid point @jonathan. Note that we nowhere see any such comments from Dr Ian Roberts.
Now, I understand the reasoning for accepting that previous infection does give some protection – it is applied within […]
Yeah, this makes sense to me too @blik.
BasCB commented on the post, Mazepin "extremely sorry" for close call with Hamilton 4 days, 11 hours ago
Yeah, it looked to me like Mazepin defenitely got too much in the way of the lapping cars there, holding both Hamilton and Verstappen up quite a bit @bleuruck. Strange how it seems this is a structural issue for […]
In the end Sainz went out in Q1 to set a lap and achieved bumping Ricciardo in the McLaren out in Q1. And he also went on track in Q2 to give Leclerc a critical tow to even get into Q3 @xenn1, however I must agree […]
BasCB commented on the post, Should Gasly have been penalised for first-corner tangle with Alonso? 5 days, 6 hours ago
Sure, Gasly might have kept tighter to the left, but then, in the first corner Perez could well have slid wide into him regardless. I think it is ok that the Stewards have been pushed by the drivers to punish in […]
BasCB commented on the post, Verstappen wary Mercedes have "stepped it up" despite taking points lead 5 days, 10 hours ago
Hm, well, it certainly looks like Mercedes have levelled the playing field and caught up with Red Bull in the last few races overall. But then, let’s wait and see how it goes at Austin (probably pretty close) and […]

There IS no “fraudulent intake cooling system”.
BasCB commented on the post, "Incredibly impressive" Mercedes straight-line speed alarms Red Bull 5 days, 12 hours ago
Sure, the Mercedes is a really good car. And yeah, maybe the cooler temperatures helped the ICEs get more power – the most at Ferrari though. I guess there might be something in what @macleod mentions – Peter […]
Yeah, Hamilton should have listened to the pit in this case, or maybe he should have went into the pit by himself immediately after Verstappen pitted. And Bottas really did a really good job driving well within […]
BasCB commented on the post, Vote for your 2021 Turkish Grand Prix Driver of the Weekend 5 days, 23 hours ago
Perez, Bottas, Gasly, Leclerc. Sainz too probably. He ran in qualifying to get Ricciardo out, and was key in getting Leclerc through into Q3 later too. I gave it to Perez, but it could have been all of those.
BasCB commented on the post, Better result was possible for Hamilton if we pitted earlier – Mercedes 5 days, 23 hours ago
Pretty much yeah.
Yeah, it was a really good defence from him. That was really one of the highlights of the race, and of Tsunoda’s season @maddme.
BasCB commented on the post, We should have pitted earlier or not at all – Hamilton 5 days, 23 hours ago
Yeah, especially given that Hamilton had been pushing quite a bit more, I can understand Mercedes not wanting to risk that @ruliemaulana. I think they should have stopped him at about the time Perez and Gasly pitted.
Yeah, we got a pretty good result with some nice driving from several drivers – Sainz early on, as well as Tsunoda defending from Lewis, and a really good race from Perez. I also liked that we got Bottas actually […]
