Has anyone got experience of getting train to circuit via Szilasliget. If anyone can tell me what’s its like / costs etc would be interested to hear. Thanks.
7th March 2019, 7:53 at 7:53 am #387643MickParticipantSo is this going to be the last Silverstone? It will be my son and my 20th straight year. Would be nice to keep going but we will have to see what happens.
7th March 2019, 7:51 at 7:51 am #387642MickParticipantWill be going in 2019 for the 3rd time. Have previously met others in Budapest and arranged taxi shoes to and from the circuit, so if anyones is interested let me know.
21st August 2017, 8:14 at 8:14 am #347948MickParticipantI’m considering the French GP for next year. Has anyone got any ideas as to what if any transport options area available from surrounding towns. Need to know how to get to the circuit and back before I can book any tickets.
7th July 2017, 8:04 at 8:04 am #345315MickParticipantWow, wouldn’t like not having tickets this close to going. I’d be phoning people by now asking where they are. I’ve had my tickets for Hungary and Silverstone for about 10 weeks now.
6th July 2017, 17:27 at 5:27 pm #345299MickParticipantI’m still here and still going. Looking at the circuits web site most stands sold out so somebodies going.
24th November 2016, 23:49 at 11:49 pm #332959MickParticipantHi Miko. If you want to get to see the teams and cars up close the pit lane is open on the Thursday but be warned it will be packed. We used to do the Thursday but the crowds are usually so dense that actually you often get to see very little, so to be honest we now don’t bother. Unfortunately F1 does not give the greatest access to the teams and drivers. If you’ve got a decent camera often you can get some really good pictures on the Friday from the main stand opposite the pits.
As far as the weekend is concerned Budapest is a great city and the race track is great. The stand you’ve selected is in a great place and gives good views of a large section of the track. Getting to the circuit you can either use the train or a bus service but they both leave you with a family lengthy walk from the drop of points to the track and can be really busy. I would recommend the taxi service which will collect you from your hotel and drop you right outside the main gate. They are then ready at the end of the day to take you back. The cost is also reasonable and I would definitely say its worth it.
Have a great weekend.
17th August 2016, 10:00 at 10:00 am #326634MickParticipantJust had an email from GPticketshop.com and they have informed me that the seats I booked in Silver 4 for the 2017 race are confirmed and I will get them.
Not sure if that means the stand will now go back on sale (its currently still showing sold out) or if they are honouring the seats sold before to was taken off sale.
9th August 2016, 12:14 at 12:14 pm #326512MickParticipantThanks for the info. I’ve been in touch with GPTickets.com and the guy who deals with Hungary is in Austria this week for the Moto GP. They say they’ll get back to me next week. All i can do is wait. I might just ring the Hungaroring and ask them. I will let you know the outcome.
8th August 2016, 17:59 at 5:59 pm #326504MickParticipantI’ve emailed GPTicketshop and am awaiting a reply. If they haven’t responded by tomorrow I’ll be on the phone. Struggling to understand how they could take my booking and money and confirm stand and seats purchased and then not provide them, so I’m hoping It’ll be a case of existing bookings are honoured.
Out of curiosity would you mind telling me who your booking agent is and how far they had they got in booking your tickets before telling you the stand wasn’t avaliable.
5th August 2016, 23:09 at 11:09 pm #326472MickParticipantThats a bit worrying. We also sat in Silver 4 this year and have booked for next year same stand and seats. We’ve had a confirmation that we’ve paid and got the the stand and seats we asked for. We booked through GPTicketshop.
I agree it was the best views. I will be contacting GPTicketshop Monday to see what they say.
5th July 2016, 8:06 at 8:06 am #324023MickParticipant@triples – Thanks for your comments. I’m sure everything is legitimate, but I have to say I’ve been to a few European races and have always had my tickets before I go, and would feel better if they were in my hand. I have emailed them and asked why I can’t get them prior to my arrival in Budapest and am awaiting their reply.
I’ll update this when I get a response.
23rd June 2016, 0:37 at 12:37 am #323217MickParticipantWhen you book through the Hungaroring you are directed to GPticketshop Hungary. They wouldn’t post to the UK without a charging a huge fee that I didn’t think was worth it. So apparently they send you an email voucher the week of the race and you present this to the ticket office at the track on Thursday and collect your tickets. I just hoe I get the email voucher before we leave early Wednesday morning to drive to Budapest.
I’m sure it’ll be fine. Am looking forward to it. Never been to Hungary before.
9th June 2016, 15:21 at 3:21 pm #321702MickParticipantHope you don’t mind me asking but where did you book your tickets. I booked ours through the Hungaroring and they say they don’t post outside Hungary and I’d need to collect them from either there office in Budapest or the racetrack.
I would have ideally liked to have had them before we hit the road to drive there.
10th May 2016, 9:34 at 9:34 am #319521MickParticipantHi Tishah,
It’s certainly an idea, as otherwise it does seem theres about a half hour walk or so from either the bus or train stops to the track. There are also two of us, my son and I so four in a cab is ideal. We’re getting into Budapest Thursday afternoon so we could meet up for a drink Thursday evening and sort something out if thats ok with you?
Never been to Budapest before so don’t know anywhere to meet but bound to be a bar somewhere in the middle. Then all we need do is decide if the cab picks up one and then comes for the others or we meet in the middle and go from there.
Not sure if theres a PM facility on this site (I’ll have a look) but if there is it may be worth taking this conversation off line.
