“First of all the rules change for ’98 – this could be the last real season of Formula One…”
This sounds familiar. And I’d hardly point to the Schumacher-Hakkinen era as the end of real Formula 1.

This is important. I’m always going to watch the whole of qualifying and the whole of the race, but my friends who don’t quite share my love for the sport? They see none of it. However, if I watch a session and […]
Hey Keith, just wanted to say that I enjoy this new article format. Please continue! It reminds me of when I was a kid, watching hockey, and the broadcaster would name the “Three Stars” of the game, in a 1-2-3 […]

Hulkenberg for me, utterly destroyed his team mate (who spent the whole weekend complaining about the car) while finishing the race just outside the points, and being part of the most exciting racing move […]

I often find myself asking the same thing, albeit “are you British,” with regard to Jolyon Palmer’s defenders. Stroll at least seems like a nice young guy (Canadians like us value that!) so I say we do give him a […]
And here I thought I was the only one!
I actually quite like the the fins. I always imagine a Formula 1 car as being more or less a fighter jet that just happens to drive instead of fly, and the fins further […]
The engine note itself sounds a bit dull, but it’s just at idle. On the other hand, when the engine is cut at the end, there’s a whining whoosh noise that I’m guessing is the turbo spooling down. THAT noise sounds amazing.
I was in the crowd in Montreal in 2013, and I remember Bottas pulling third on the grid on the Saturday. It was a drizzly, cold day, but the crowd around the hairpin, where I was, gave him a massive ovation on […]

It is truly a shame that we don’t have this epic championship being decided at a suitably epic venue. Season finale should be at a classic venue, which Yas Marina certainly is not.

I’ve been to the Canadian Grand Prix a couple of times over the past 5 years, including 2013 with the V8s, and then the last two years with the turbos. While I found the cacophony of the V8s mind-blowingly loud, […]

Agreed. I hope he gets a proper send-off.

Speaking as a fellow Canadian, I feel like any frustration or disappointment I end up feeling due to Stroll’s performance (or lack thereof) will be nothing in comparison to how bummed out I always felt during the […]
I’ve been to the Canadian GP 3 times now. This year my wife and I splurged for one of the trio packages as well, although it was in a different order (Hairpin [Grandstand 15] on Friday, pit straight [GS1] on […]
