Jere commented on the post, Risk of rain at Sochi a factor in Verstappen's engine penalty decision 3 weeks, 2 days ago
@mrfill, Next season’s race will be the swansong, but light rain is okay for racing.
@mrfill Igora will definitely have to be in the Northern Hemisphere summer, meaning either June or July because of summer break timing.
Jere commented on the post, Australian Grand Prix cancelled for second year in a row 3 months, 1 week ago
@mrfill What do you mean by Saudi in this context? They don’t have a say on which places get added AFAIA. Both Bahrain and Qatar are on UK’s red list, as is the UAE, so definitely not a given.
Jere commented on the post, Singapore Grand Prix cancelled, second US race among possible alternatives 4 months, 1 week ago
@mrfill True, UK would have to remove Turkey from that list for Istanbul Park to be a viable option.
@mrfill I give it a few more than 4 races, maybe 5 or 6 but this is an event that will quickly fade away as the novelty wears off. Florida has no natural elevation change and racing around the car park for a […]

Dave commented on the post, Hamilton tests negative for Covid-19, will return to race in Abu Dhabi 10 months, 1 week ago
@mrfill The rule you state doesn’t exist. You think 2000 people sat in hotel rooms on their own without seeing a single other person face to face for 4 days from Monday to Thursday? The Yas Marina Island is locked […]
Balue commented on the post, Debris cost Bottas up to eight tenths of a second per lap 11 months, 2 weeks ago
@mrfill That’s absolute pace. He would have managed the pace to save equipment, and only pulled out the low lap times before the stops, and to match Hamilton’s charge later.
Alianora La Canta commented on the post, Racing Point confirms it had four other Covid-19 cases 11 months, 2 weeks ago
@mrfill Mechanics are indeed not engineers. They’re different roles, though with less separation in their duties than in the 1980s when the distinct categories were first laid out.

Jere commented on the post, Don't meddle with "drivers' circuits" like Spa – Wolff 1 year, 1 month ago
@mrfill Maybe not, but teams actually do have some data from the track as they’ve (other as well, not only Ferrari) tested there before (the same with Algarve in 2009), although most recently in 2012, so not […]

@mrfill How so? They weren’t surrendering in that time
Alec Glen commented on the post, F1 teams welcome ban on testing at new tracks for 2020 1 year, 1 month ago
@mrfill because that’s his job as CEO of Mercedes, the best-funded team on the grid. This is just Wolff showing that he’s aware of the bigger picture.
Also, I’d love if we had some great races at these circuits […]
Jere commented on the post, F1 is a "global example" of how to continue life amid pandemic – Todt 1 year, 2 months ago
@mrfill I agree with you, although I’m not worried about the Spanish GP. The circuit, after all, stated earlier that the restrictions that came into effect last month in Spain aren’t going to have an impact on the […]

Balue commented on the post, McLaren could mortgage MTC and classic F1 cars to raise funds 1 year, 5 months ago
@mrfill Indeed. Maybe he won’t be ‘Vandoorn’ed’, but surely not far from it.
Will still be awesome to watch Alonso’s comeback. With another Mercedes whitewash, it might be the interesting thing going on.
Asanator commented on the post, Ferrari tipped to sign Sainz, Ricciardo expected to join McLaren 1 year, 5 months ago
@mrfill even if the constructors points were reinstated for the 2008 season, Ferrari still win. I suggest you do a little more research into that season.
(Hint: Hungarian gp)
Not much of a difference from normally. He did much the same in all the time from 2014 until they started to look like they could win again sometime last season @mrfill
