The Romain Special must be the wall-mounted unit!

Rick D. commented on the post, UK-based F1 teams responding to shortage of ventilators 3 years, 2 months ago
Next year, Haas will be able to buy Ferrari’s 2020 ventilators and offer them to the US with a different label on them.

Haas might pull out halfway through the race like they did two years ago…

Hopefully we can bank on seeing a good race there this year.

Rick D. commented on the post, Mercedes beat 2019 benchmark as Ferrari hit engine trouble 3 years, 3 months ago
I disagree with people saying Binotto needs to be replaced. Part of Ferrari’s problem for the last 6-7 years has been the lack of stable leadership. Not the only problem, certainly, but a major contributor.
I […]

Rick D. commented on the post, FIA: Mercedes' steering system 'DAS' appears to be legal 3 years, 3 months ago
Mercedes is either really onto something here, or this is a really elaborate ruse to distract their competitors during a critical time of year.
Either way, well done to them. (And speaking as a Ferrari fan… “Dammit”.)

Rick D. commented on the post, Sainz: Difficult for McLaren to compete with 'small teams getting help from big teams' 3 years, 3 months ago
I wonder how much this will change next year when McLaren becomes a Mercedes Customer team like Racing Point. Will McLaren still be “on their own” or will they be getting support from the top team as well?

Rick D. commented on the post, Easier to drive, higher build quality, "much better" handling – Russell's verdict on new Williams 3 years, 3 months ago
I’m not a huge Williams fan, but I hope their car is much better this year so we can see Russell’s true talent. It’s always better for the sport to have all of the teams fighting for points as well. The last two […]

Rick D. commented on the post, 'We're going to break all the lap records this year', predicts Ocon after first test 3 years, 3 months ago
It’s evident they’ve made a lot of changes and really pushed the design forward this year. Lots of little details, the added rake, the tight Coke bottle area.
If Daniel is comfortable with it under braking, […]

Rick D. commented on the post, New Racing Point will be 'distinctly different' from 2019 car 3 years, 3 months ago
From the article it sounds like this is still their 2019 car, just in this year’s livery. We’ll see the 2020 car when testing starts.

Rick D. commented on the post, First picture: New Renault makes its debut on track 3 years, 3 months ago
@johnrkh That’s what I was thinking, too. They’re either very confident that they’ve hit on something big, or they’re just being mysterious for no other reason than to create hype.
I’d love it if they came out […]

Rick D. commented on the post, First pictures: AlphaTauri reveals its new look for 2020 3 years, 3 months ago
Sharp livery, reminds me of the old Compaq livery on the BMW Williams a long time ago.
I like that Honda’s logo placement is so prominent, and being the only thing in red it really stands out. As for the car, […]

Rick D. commented on the post, First pictures: Raikkonen drives new Alfa Romeo C39 at Fiorano 3 years, 3 months ago
Interesting roll hoop inlet design. I can’t recall another team staggering the engine and cooling inlets like that. Perhaps leaving the option open to put Ferrari-style viking wings on the forward part of it? […]

Rick D. commented on the post, New Mercedes adopts rivals' sidepod design but features "adventurous" new suspension 3 years, 3 months ago
They must really think they’re onto something with the rear suspension design because there aren’t any pictures that really show it clearly. Looking forward to seeing what they’ve come up with, and whether or not […]

Rick D. commented on the post, First pictures: McLaren reveals its new F1 car for 2020 3 years, 3 months ago
Is it just me or does it seem like the roll hoop inlet has been moved further aft on a couple of the cars this year? Perhaps it’s just a trick of the eye but it looks like the inlet on this as well as the Ferrari […]

Rick D. commented on the post, Ferrari threatened with legal action and seizure of car over alleged tobacco promotion 3 years, 3 months ago
Do we think their claim has merit or are they just “blowing smoke”?
I personally think the whole Mission Winnow sponsorship is stupid, and I generally agree with this organization that it’s a back-door way for […]

Rick D. commented on the post, Ricciardo expects podium finish in second season at Renault 3 years, 3 months ago
I think the world of Daniel’s talent but I don’t see Renault winding up on the podium this year, unless it’s by way of luck in some insane race like the German GP was this past season. Their car last year wasn’t […]

Rick D. commented on the post, First pictures: Mercedes presents its 2020 livery in London 3 years, 3 months ago
Whether or not they intended it as a tribute to Niki, I like that the car looks like it’s wearing a red cap.
The rest of it is predictable. Not bad, they’re not my favorite team anyway, but what did people […]

Rick D. commented on the post, Pictures: Haas is first to reveal its new F1 car for 2020 3 years, 4 months ago
Maybe that’s why Vettel spun out so much. It wasn’t bad driving on his part, he was just testing how it would behave with Grosjean behind the wheel!

Rick D. commented on the post, Full F1 launch line-up complete as Red Bull confirm new car's debut 3 years, 4 months ago
I suspect McLaren’s livery will be different, from comments I’ve seen about them supposedly going with a “retro” style livery for their sponsor (BAT). I really liked their livery last year though so hopefully it […]
